Darren Hayes has dropped a bombshell about his relationship history.

The Savage Garden frontman, 50, revealed on Nova's Fitzy & Wippa on Friday that he dated two people close to pop singer Madonna - including her younger brother Christopher Ciccone.

'I guess I can say this now because I've been married for 17 years, but I went on a few dates with her brother,' Darren said.

Darren explained he had always been a huge fan of Madonna, who was very close with her brother at the height of her music career.

Christopher even served as a backup dancer for the Queen of Pop in the '80s.

'The thing was, I wasn't like a Madonna stalker,' he laughed.

'They could have introduced me to her the whole time. And it was really important for me to let them know, like, "No, I'm into you. I'm not into her," even though I was totally gagging to meet her.'

'I walk into the room, I scan the room, and there's this huge, golden light from God on Madonna!' he said.
