I think we can leave from ATRL.

Why losing so much energy for that old lady from the bronx here, when @suburbannature could give more substance than us ? :toofunny3:

Leave? At this point, we're giving ATRL charity. Sooner or later, Celebria will be full of J.Lo threads, and I'll be here for all of them. :smitten2:

Their minds!

Is there a reason you just quoted/mentioned me three posts in a row, darling?

Also, you forgot to update MC in the title. I've got your back.

Too busy to bring the truth, I got no time to update the thread like Jennifer didn't got free time to see MC @ Vegas.

Up to 84% now! Her third FRESH project in a row. And haters say she’s panned?

Halftime will make you respect Jennifer Lopez. She fights with higher-ups at NFL who want to dampen the human rights statement that she’s trying to make with her performance set, she champions her Latina heritage, and she’s open with her disappointments.

It was good. Never know how stern and disciplined she was. Gave me new respect to her.

The doc was okay. It isn’t any different from the traditional  celebrity  documentary. Nina Simone’s doc remains the standard.. How are you going to have a documentary but omit the real hardships such as the breakup with Alex, no proper reintroduction to Ben, and she didn’t even show us how she really felt about the snub or the losses she just glossed over them in a robotic way. She should have showed her human side more.

Did they include the clip where JLo wasn't recognized in her home borough

Lemme stream. Maybe it's cute then I can let my friends know about this JLo queen

She is truly the hardest working woman in the business.

She may not be as talented as other artists, but she knows her weakness and has been working extra harder to cover the gap.

I really think that she is mistreated by the industry, she deserves more respect.

Another FRESH one:

NME - Nick Levine

This isn’t a revisionist portrait of a maligned woman in the public eye like Framing Britney Spears, but a document of Lopez’s perseverance, perfectionism and ability to transcend what is expected of her. J.Lo wants us to know she’s always moving forward.

In a way, it’s a shame the film ends with a basic boilerplate listing Lopez’s record sales, box office receipts and social media following. By this point, Halftime has done more than enough to show us that its subject is very much the real deal.

4/5

and this is why I'm here for her!

these are great character traits mostly, perfectionism is a double-edged sword tho but I expect this doc will be illuminating to watch

They were building soooooo high with that Oscars narrative and when it was announced that she didn't get in, they threw that narrative QUICKLY. So anti-climatic.

Why would they recycle a clip from a documentary from 20 years ago? :skull: Also, she was and is definitely recognized in the Bronx. It was the new owner of her childhood home who didn't recognize. He's an elderly Guyanese that I actually know through in-laws. He does not follow pop culture and wouldn't know who your fave is either.

And as if your friends don't know who J.Lo is. The delusion. :toofunny3:
