He sends a video to me with this thing and… He just happened like two years non-stop living and breathing as Elvis. He’s now going through a sort of, it’s like, deprogramming thing because he’s been a long time since he’s known who he was.”

 

Butler has earned rave reviews for his “Elvis” performance, which earned a 12-minute standing ovation at its Cannes Film Festival world premiere. Warner Bros. is opening the music drama in U.S. theaters on June 24.

 

Do yall think Harry would have been a better "Elvis" than Austin?

Bingo. I like Harry, and his aesthetic/schtick makes it obvious that this is what he's going for, but his music lacks the artistic depth and innovation to achieve it.

This is really smart marketing if you think about it . He lightly drags Harry in a soundbite while actually praising him if you get the full context. Harry currently has an active era so his name will bring in the clicks. Whoever came up with this, their PR sensibilities are on point.
