Katy: "People love to argue in politics but we need to help the environment first"

The kitsch and camp are Perry’s calling cards, but they can also at times obscure her tenacious activism. Both she and fiancé Orlando Bloom are UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors. And over the years, she’s advocated for gun reform, voting, LGBTQIA+ and women’s rights, including abortion. “More than ever, I believe that it shouldn’t be governed by men. Women should have a right to their own bodies,” she says.

“When I had my child, I thought to myself, what is the world going to look like when she is 35? Will she look at me and ask, ‘Mom, did you do your best to leave me and my generation something livable?’ I have a personal responsibility, and in general we all have that responsibility. Everyone loves to argue in politics. But we might need to first solve the fundamental crisis that is going on, which is the environment. There is no other subject that is more important.”

“The strongest cause is the one that is the most relatable. When you try to do corporate virtue signaling, people are like, eh, yeah right,” she says. “I want to buy a great product, and if they have a great cause that they are contributing to, then I feel even better.”

I disagree.

I want mother nature to take us all in a blaze of glory so that mankind can start a new history.

This one is ruined

Considering we have 1 billion years till the sun kills earth for good. I highly doubt if we die now another humanoid species will have Time to grow and thrive.

Yes and endorsing a republican who running as a democrat—who is also a billionaire, on the board of the Ronald Reagan Foundation, was the head of LA's police commission and hired William Bratton for Police Commissioner (famous for being Police Comm. of NYPD and dropping a collab with Rudy f*cking Giuliani called Stop n Frisk/Broken Windows, resulting in highly racist policing practices)—is probably the least likely way we'll get meaningful environmental action.

Thank you so much for actually laying out why you think this candidate is so problematic. I get so tired of all these meme queens wagon jumping and not even knowing why he is a problem.

Cars are so unnecessary and toxic for the environment anyway, there needs to be a huge public transportation system for everyone.

OT: she may have not articulated herself well but she does have a point!
