I do think about this from time to time, and it's actually given me a lot of peace revolving one day dying and being dead (used to have a fear). My conclusion is that life is literally just the universe experiencing itself—if one day the universe ends (a lot of scientists hypothesize this), it will be born again as there always has to be something. Maybe then we will find ourselves in new bodies and situations, with no prior memory to this life just my take on the matter. This is such a beautiful concept. The universe probably has reformed itself multiple times and were not even in the hundreds. The process of just being nothing seams peaceful to me, to constantly be in any form is torture.

I guess that by doing more physics experiments we'll find out how to exactly manoeuvre time juts like we can move through space, and even with that our techniques to move through space are still very rudimentary. I think it is in a sense of how we perceive time. But it’s understandable since no one has teached us otherwise. And I agree in a few decades/centuries maybe there will be changes to it.

Pop Life Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 I very passively believe in samsara and reincarnation and believe that some souls have been at this longer than others. When you look at it that way, if the soul is eternal all it means is more time to acquire wisdom. I do wonder if some souls get tired though, or accumulate wounds across lives
Mephisto Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 I don't believe in souls or an afterlife, I think once we die we just stop existing. The idea intrigues me tho, and I'd love to be proven wrong if science ever manages to find proof of an afterlife/reincarnation/past lives or whatever. I do like threads like these because they make me think and it's interesting to read different opinions. We need some kind of a spirituality megathread or something.
Frappucino Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Anyone here read The Egg by Andy Weir? I feel like it's a good way to describe life. Our consciousness is constantly expanding so in a way we are eternal. I don't think thinking about reincarnation with a human ego will get you very far, lol. We are all one and that includes lives that aren't human.

Animals die. Plants die. Even unicellular organisms die. They all are not going to have souls. So why should we the exception? One of my favorite moments EVER is when I finally slept after not sleeping for 3 days. It was heavenly. I expect the final moments of my life to feel the same as this. Blissful, Unaware, Sweet Release from EVERYTHING. unless you get eaten by an alligator.
Planet Mars Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 What we do know is that energy is neither created nor destroyed, only transferred. It changes, endures and adapts itself, but is never truly snuffed out. Whoever we are, whatever we are, is part of something that has existed trillions of years before we were "born", and we exist today as the result of billions of years of evolution on earth, with parts that have been here since day 1. In a way, we have always, and always will be here, the question is whether or not we've ever existed as conscious beings anywhere in our universe before. Crazy to think about.

He speaks about time, space, and matter and how God is outside of all that. He is self-existing, whereas everything within the realm of time has an origin of creation — which makes it difficult for us to understand the idea of eternity. We are familiar with a time for something that’s born and a time when a life ends, but God exists in a place outside of time and so will our spirits when we pass on from this life. I believe in heaven and being in the presence of God, where there is no time. Thus, our bodies don’t die. We are simply just changing locations when we die on earth and moving onto spiritual life in our spiritual bodies. I believe even before that happens we are already spiritual beings as our bodies are God’s dwelling place. I saw some of your posts in this thread about how you’ve grown to be spiritual in the past few years. I think I remember your posts from years ago, maybe 2017/2018, and it was much different sounding compared to now. Awesome to see you grow! Edited June 6, 2022 by Buffy
worldwide angel Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 qaadir on youtube kind of made an interesting point i can’t remember verbatim but it was something along the lines of souls are eternal and after death we are the painters to a blank canvas and that kinda sounds like a serve but both eternity and oblivion freak me out

That video basically encapsulated my recent thoughts and beliefs lmao, the guy is Christian but people don’t realize how all religions tell the same story with different details. Yeah I did change around 2019, I started seeing angel numbers, lucid dreaming a bit, reading the kybalion, laws of the universe, oneness, and explored Buddhism a bit. It’s been the most enlightening years of my life and once you access the spiritual awakening there’s no way back. Edited June 7, 2022 by Trent W

Victon Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 The Universe itself is eternal and expansion, it has no limits and we are inside of this vortex of creation, our mind is the expansion of the Universe itself, we created our own life and experience and when it's eventually done, we have a new beginning, we will never know ... In what form, what gender, what religion we are going to take in the next life or maybe you are a highly evolved soul so there's no need to come back on earth, but you become in a higher dimensions helping your dear ones who still needs some human experience and you become their guardian angels, spirit guide etc. Energy is never lost, it only transformed.
