ATRL always treated Latinos as if they weren’t real people and that their streams didn’t count. :gaycat6:

Bad represents like 90% of the Spanish Music industry. Just sayin..

Slay :jonny:

It also really irks me when users use the phrase "but the industry is way bigger in x y z countries" to make someone's popularity irrelevant and it's places where people can afford to buy music :rip:

Doesn't Spotify also have a free option?

Spanish music is really big and it's growing.

Both youtube and Spotify have free options... who will dominate if the free tiers are removed? What are the top 10 on Apple music

The whole music industry on a global level has shifted from yt to streaming services throughout the years.

Stream Provenza, one of the best songs of 2022.

It's like we're living the "latin wave" again like we did back in 1999 when Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin and J.Lo dominated the charts

What countries are they getting those numbers from :eli:

Bad Bunny is the clear force with the ocassional hit here and there from other artists, but it's certainly getting more big on streaming like Spotify

It wasn't particularly xenophobic, there was a clear dominance of latin artists on YT getting billions of views, more than anglosphere acts and songs (now whether the discussion of people dismissing the numbers it's another story). It has been changing since YT is kind of dying for music and their numbers have been increasing on platforms like Spotify.

I'm guessing because YT has been trying to compete with Spotify and their free option doesn't allow you to play a video/song while having your photo locked, people probably feel it may as well move to Spotify, whether it's payed or free option, which is more convinient and easier to use

So many artists there

yet Shakira is still the only relevant one among non-hispanic audiences
