Arcadius Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 (edited) I've only been watching clips on twitter so I'm really lost as to how Taylor has gotten the angry black woman typecast. Like has she gotten into arguments with people? I'm truly lost. Edited July 10, 2022 by Arcadius

She did not really talk game (serving some Azah) but the way this cast said she will pop off and be aggressive and vocal towards them

Like what are y’all mad over? The season will be able to proceed as you want to without the inconvenience of someone you don’t see it for being there. I’m mentioning it because they were fan faves that won over the public despite saying incredibly ****** up **** that would have gotten other problematic houseguests like Christmas **** if she said the same things. Yes, the comments about Taylor “blowing up” if she gets put up are microagressions, but BB twitter is delusional trying to make it seem like Taylor is being bullied. She’s being shittalked and targeted, like what happens literally every other season of big brother in the early weeks.

Except usually when people are **** talking its various different people all having issues with one another, not literally everyone hating and singling out one person. Granted, I agree Taylor does not have it as bad as Candice or Kemi but that doesn't negate anything she's going through. I just don't think the treatment Taylor is receiving should be brushed off all because its "Big Brother" and that's how the game works.

She’s being shittalked and targeted, like what happens literally every other season of big brother in the early weeks. I get what you’re saying, but again, it’s resentment over BB Twitter… so nothing to do with Taylor or this season individually and everything to do with a subsection of the fanbase you don’t care for. Which is fine, because you don’t have to seek out their takes you could literally just follow an updates account and leave it at that. You never see anyone complaining about Reddit or Facebook championing Tyler for using BLM for strategy or saying JC had a point regarding being able to say the n-word, and it’s because people know better than to frequent or give power to a space that doesn’t serve them. It’s that easy. So I don’t know what you want me to do or take out of you thinking Da’Vonne and Tiffany were undeservedly popular or awarded AFP (a consolation prize that means nothing and needs more than Twitter to make happen), or what you want me to make out of them being mentioned in relation Taylor being AFP as opposed to other problematic people that have won it, because the chances of it actually happening are slim.

Misogynoir and characterizations that don’t match the person’s behavior is literally how Big Brother works so I guess that’s the gag
QueenBLadyG Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Just by reading a few posts, is there already racism and prejudice going on already? Can someone give me an update of all the drama so far.

The fact that they cast so many white people after what The Cookout accomplished isn't surprising and, now, look at what is happening.
Shy Boy Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 (edited) Uhhhhh...I really thought a post-Cookout Big Brother would be different... Taylor is the latest victim of what it means to be a Black woman in the Big Brother house. They houseguests barely make an effort to get to know them, and instead grasp at anything to get to validate their implicit bias against them. It's really sad. Edited July 10, 2022 by Shy Boy

Didn’t last season have the same amount of white people as this season? I thought it still followed the CBS 50% rule

They don’t want it happening again (and I kinda don’t blame them) but what’s happening to Taylor isn’t ok. It sucks because I love this show, but not when things are going down the way that they currently are. I’m still gonna root for a select few individuals, but from a distance.

Big Brother is so interesting from a sociological standpoint because it confirms so many ugly truths about American culture and society at large. If only the show would embrace this concept, but I guess it wouldn't make for a very pleasant viewing. I think that's partly why the show's production has grown increasingly juvenile and superficial.

It does embrace it by doing it every season But I think that's interesting too, it was more of a novel concept in the 2000's when the Internet was still kind of new so it inherently has that edge and the amount of people that watch the feeds are going to be smaller, but now that the world is chronically online, it's impossible for them to correlate the more family friendly and corny aspect of the show they've tried to push since BB16. You'd think they'd eliminate the live feeds altogether as it's largely inconvenient to the show they try to push.

Here’s a refresher since you a few others here seem to be oblivious as to what’s going on: Keep in mind Taylor hasn’t done anything to deserve this type of treatment. why people so pressed over this poor girl
orange22 Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 I need Taylor to catch one of these ******* talking **** because you know they’ll fold
Puttanesca Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Unfortunately, being a pageant girl in the house puts you at a huge disadvantage imo.
Into The Void Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 i swear people who join this show should seek therapy afterwards cause the **** that goes on in there would require mental help
orange22 Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 (edited) I wish Big Brother was like Love Island where some contestants come in later to switch things up tbh (the villas are a nice touch as well ) Edited July 10, 2022 by orange22
Mariah's Glove Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 (edited) Even ignoring the current Taylor stuff, this season is destined to be a flop I think. This cast just seems too boring and group thinky to me. i don’t see a real strategizer or game player in this group. Guarantee an 8 person alliance will be solidified after Monte or Kyle wins HOH inevitably on Thursday and then it will just be steamroll Edited July 10, 2022 by Mariah's Glove
