I 100% believe in a conspiracy that these climate change activists are actually secretly funded by big oil and gas

That’s not a conspiracy. A great chunk of the anti-nuclear movement in Belgium and Germany is financed by Gazprom lol

Guinness World Records lists da Vinci's Mona Lisa as having the highest ever insurance value for a painting. On permanent display at the Louvre in Paris, the Mona Lisa was assessed at US$100 million on December 14, 1962. Taking inflation into account, the 1962 value would be around US$837 million in 2019.

The Mona Lisa isn't insured, because it is considered irreplaceable. The techniques and skills that Leonardo showed in painting this without anyone showing or helping him produce this is one of the reasons in my opinion. It took four years (1503-1507) to paint it, although it was unfinished, it took another 3 years to complete, up to the year the painter died in 1519. Around 7 years of painting. Achieving a level of skill and mastery that has never been matched let alone surpassed. Painted on a poplar panel not canvas, makes it even more impressive.

Mona currently hangs in the Louvre inside a bullet proof, climate controlled cabinet which has survived several assaults. Museum officials have wisely decided it makes more sense to spend money on protection than on insurance.

Why are y'all stanning Mona Lisa so hard? :bibliahh: When the earth becomes uninhabitable (which isn't far away), Miss Lisa will eventually decay and turn to dust. I'm on the activist's side, not the random work of art.

Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most talented sodomites ever. :biblio: The lack of respect for your own community's heritage.

Good. Politicians need to ******* act on this. It may not be our generation or our children's but its only a matter of time before this planet becomes literally uninhabitable if we stay on the current course

**** that uglee painting. I hope more of the things the rich and powerful hold sacred get defaced if they keep ignoring the problem.

Whats sad is this will probably get more coverage than the man who literally self immolated in front of the Capitol, because its the Mona Lisa. THATS why the protester selected it, there doesn't need to be a direct correlation to make headlines

what'd the mona lisa even do? she's literally just smiling :rip:

Deranged thought process. Something being beloved by people doesn't make it a symbol for the rich and powerful.

Excuse me, but I'm a side :biblio: That's NOT my community.

Random work of art? :rip: It’s almost a symbol for humankind and our power to create art.

..... And humankind will be wiped out if we don't curb climate change, so who tf cares about a painting more than climate catastrophe??

We can still protect both our art and our planet. No need to trash one to save the other. Like there is not correlation
