Abracadabra Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 We don't need another version of that tone deaf Glee episode

Sugar-Rush Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Those folks wanting a school shooting episode are like the Exhale owner removing gun gifs as a way of showing support for stricter gun control.

Yes, and the episode was literally called "Shooting Star", and it aired four months after Sandy Hook... so incredibly tone deaf. The episode was well acted and actually quite powerful, but it was still very ill timed and just a bad and insensitive idea overall. TW

Karla Cabello Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 people are so desensitised and it would not fit the show at all
harwee Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 She's totally right. Its not all politics. Mass media and entertainment is part of the gun culture.
Khal Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Children are literally dying and the theatrical **** show that is America will still not do anything about it, but it's an episode of Abbott Elementary that's supposed to effect change? Okay
akoaytao1234 Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 I get her point but a 'popular' show tackling a timely topic is something that can really make waves (ie. Golden Girls, Will and Grace as a whole && Brokeback Mountain for Gay Rights and issues, Rosseta's affect of Belgian Wage Laws, or Thin Blue Line and other countless crime documentaries affecting trials and cold cases) by helping public opinion and giving a nuance perspective. It can get sketchy but its a noble thing if done well. But its her show, its her choices.
