More woke (I hate that term) but less vocal about it because virtue signaling is tacky and yelling on the internet is a waste of precious energy

Agreed. Nuance and context is dead nowadays

I don’t really like the word “woke” but I get the concept. I don’t think everyone “woke” is out of touch with reality by any means, but many can tend to be imo. Especially keyboard warriors on sites like Twitter and even ATRL. In many cases you see so many fighting for their life in comments to try and portray themselves as the most woke or caring or whatever rather than actually doing anything for causes they allege to care for. Also the fighting to try and seem the most marginalized for some reason so they can somehow allege that makes them more “woke.”

With age and an open mind I feel both personally and for others that you get more wisdom and experiences that allow you to understand more, while also staying more grounded than many “woke” youth.

I think one of the most common modern examples is gender identity. Do gender identity issues exist? Absolutely 100%. It is also great it’s being brought to light by many to try and normalize it and help them out. However, there is also a part of the population that is doing it because that is what is popular online or at school. And they are young so they are trying to figure themselves out and aren’t sure. It’s just kids trying to fit in and it’s harmless, but one day many will come to and realize they had a common coming of age figuring out their identity phase, not a gender identity problem. That being said it isn’t a big deal like some make it to be. Many will grow out of it. I see it as barely different from growing up myself just with different labels. So many were bisexual or emo or preppy or whatever. Most of them grew up and they were none of that. They just found something they liked that helped them fit in including myself.

I have come to learn there are many “woke” but of the elder generations. If that is the type of person you are and you are intelligent and not easily influenced by the bias around you very much will hold onto that. Unfortunately many people have problems like getting overly busy with life and not keeping up with anything outside their bubble, some people get negatively influenced by things like religion or their family, and some people by nature just aren’t open minded. It’s really complicated but I don’t think aging itself is a sole cause for becoming less “woke” tho sometimes it can play a part

yeah definitely, I realized in like 2017 that I didn't have to be a leftist just because I'm gay. I don't identify as a conservative but I definitely embrace some conservative beliefs :clap3:

Such as?
