'Future Nostalgia' era appreciation thread – the best era in forever?

The era was long. And if it was 2010 then it would have been normal but nowadays eras don't last very long so i'll give her credit there that she was able to stretch it that long and it was still very successful.

Didn’t she cry at the start of the era? I’d imagine there’s only happy tears now.

She has given us so much EFFORT in making this a proper Pop era, and idc how successful she is now, she deserves way more.

Whew, she really did THAT. This era is iconic and will forever be remembered. I wish more people were this comitted to their music.

the way this era started with a 2 week early leak, some tears, a pandemic and now we're on the other side and it's literally one of the best pop eras of all time. :WAP:

I mean loved the music, the promo and it was sucessful

But let's not act like this was a well handled era.

Physical not being released in the US

Break my heart being the single instead

The we're good rerelease mess

Flop again being chosen as a single instead of cool or pretty please

The music being amazing and the promo saved the era. Managment was horrible.

Regarding Physical, I think it wasn't pushed in the US, because they was believed it'd be too "aggressive" for pop radio, so they went for Break My Heart instead, which suited better for US radio's taste (and it did go #1 on pop radio).

I agree with you. I listened to the album since it was released and it became so addicting that it's now in my top 10 best albums of all time list.

Dua really did THAT :clap3:

If they wanted that levitating was the way to go

The era had no big LWYMMD or Wrecking Ball type of momentum so no. It had nothing exciting going on, it was just a string of tirelessly promoted singles and luckily two of them stuck.

I've been told that some eras with one semi-hit on the back of a feature were mega-wins so clearly Dua did something right :swan:

Maybe they were more confident in Levitating’s sure-fire smash potential and thus were saving it for later while using the album release momentum to push Break My Heart, since that one would’ve probably performed worse it if was released as single months after the album was released.
