Jeremiah Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 (edited) Did you ever notice that Canada is in fact cradle of big music acts? From acclaimed legends: To some of the biggest 90s female artists: To beloved 00s relics: To the biggest 2010s male artists: And many many more. Shook? Have we been on a Canadian invasion all this time and didn't realize? Edited May 25, 2022 by Jeremiah
TheGreatestX Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Not surprised. Canada has always been cooler than the States.
Blankspace2010 Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Canadian artists have had legendary numbers in sales and streaming.
dirrtydiana Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Britney’s us singles chart peaks should look like canadas in the us. They served TASTE
naval23 Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Canada gave us Celine and Shania who are absolute legends
SleepNoMore Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Yassss! So proud of my country. Also do t forget Shawn Mendes! Carly Rae Jepson! Lights! And Sarah McLachlan, Bryan Adams, Corey Hart, Alessia Cara, Tate McRae, Barenaked Ladies, Gordon Lightfoot, Jann Arden…
RihFenty20 Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Yes, praise my nation. It’s sad that our artists only get proper traction when they go to the USA. The music scene here sucks at retaining our cultivated talent.
Protocol Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Don't forget Sarah McLachlan in the 90s, her 'Surfacing' album was close to Diamond Also at "relics of the 00s"
swissman Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Paul Anka too...one of the biggest popstars/songwriters of the 1950s/early 1960s, a huge icon for that time.
uusagii Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Neil Young too. OT but seeing this makes me really proud to be Canadian lol
glacier76 Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Arcade Fire is probably the biggest current rock band outside of Coldplay. Michael Buble for jazz.
dirrtydiana Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 I had no idea Nelly F was Canadian I thought she was latina from the us

That’s not a question so it’s wrong to use question marks. 2. I’m praising Canada and it’s talent and taste in music. Learn to read. or as you guys would say: learn to read??
Pop Life Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 (edited) Doesn't their government have a wealth of programs geared toward funding the arts? I don't think it's just about Canada having more talented musicians – those with talent are also more likely to believe that it's worth pursuing as a career. Here in the states, not only have our school music programs been ruthlessly gutted over the years, but most of the musicians that are left simply can't afford to chase their dreams.
