It grows on you when you stop comparing it to La Reina.

it actually has better vocals than La Reina, which was a bit too shouty. the vocal layering was better too. but other than that they're pretty much the same song.

it will sound sooo good on vinyl as a whole album

Brujeria didn't disappoint me, Karol G would've ate if it had been a collaboration

Sueltame is actually pretty good, this is more subtle and sexy than Muchachas which I was a mess.

Traguito reminds me of another song but the beach vibe is a mood, perfect for summer

Cuando Me De La Gana is a skip, just like La Reina.

Te Deseo Lo Mejor is a bop and probably the best song on the project, If there is a song that I wish would feature a bigger artist is this one, only because it deserves to be well known by the people, regardless if it's a hit or not. The Santo of this project for sure.

So far, if she compiles everything on an album my picks for the final tracklist would be

Te Deseo Lo Mejor

Santo

Sueltame

Brujeria

Traguito

Pa Mis Muchachas

Either Cuando Me De La Gana / La Reina but certainly not both.

This EP is definitely stronger and more cohesive than La Fuerza.

Now I need to be served with the visuals. Where is the videoooo

Suéltame is the highlight of this EP. I also love Brujeria at first listen...the rest is a grower I think

Sueltame is really catchy and fun. A much better single than Santo. It kind of has this pop r&b crossover sound of her debut tbh

Te Deseo Lo Mejor is my favorite I think. Very smooth and catchy.

I generally like this EP more than I liked La Fuerza. I pretty much only liked Pa Mis Muchachas on LF.

However, I'm a little skeptical about what these songs are supposed to do for her. They're good and not too generic thankfully, but if Latin music fans want basic midtempo bops, can't they get them from their own artists that they already know and love? This was a trap for several American names trying to branch out to Latin music (J Lo, Selena etc). Christina needs to bring forward something more unique otherwise there's no point. La Reina and CMDLG may be loud, but at least they're very Xtina and they're something no one else is doing. I'd rather get a more polished version of those than more rhythmic midtempos.

Anyway, I hope they actually push Sueltame with a good video and some playlists to give it a real shot

Traguito is the superior track here. Thought was someone else singing the second verse.

I doubt they are pushing anything

I don't mind, I wish the music was more unique as well, but it's whatever. Most of pop singers don't tend to release anything groundbreaking

Te Deseo Lo Mejor:

Te Deseo Lo Mejor > Brujeria > Sueltame > Cuando Me De La Gana > Traguito

La Tormenta > La Fuerza, point blank period.

I still can’t believe that’s her.

This makes sense tbh. I tend to automatically associate it to La Reina.

This was cute. Traguito kinda sounds like a smash. Unfortunately Te Deseo Lo Mejor is easily my least fav of the EPs tho

this isnt grabbing me like la fuerza, i think i like la reinas twin better than la reina though but maybe just because she breaks it up a bit

the audience needs Traguito as 2nd single. maybe a remix with a male artist and a summery video

Um... Traguito kind of grows, huh? It slapped a biT on the second spin. Summer single?

Por eso digo AY AY AY

I think I still prefer La Fuerza as a whole as I'm a bit undecided on song 4 & 5, but at least there's no Somos Nada 2.0. And the 1-2-3 punch of Sueltame, Brujeria & Traguito is everything.

But most importantly -

So proud of Xtina for delivering such a stellar project so far. Best of all I think she sounds inspired & is having a lot of fun with it, reminds me of pre-2010 Christina. To me it seems the tours, residency have all helped her to further evolve & develop on the premise of Liberation; artistically finding herself again. As much as I love Liberation, it always felt like she was just starting in that regard. I definitely see and hear growth here when we take the interviews & the few performances into account as well.

She definitely exceeds my expectations so far.

This is really really good. Overall I also think I prefer it over La Fuerza (which I loved).

I think it’s because the consistency in quality is better. While I don’t think I liked something in La Tormenta more than PMM or Santo, it’s a smoother listen because all songs here are equally good. In the other EP you had very high highs and then songs like Como Yo, Ya Llegué and Somos Nadas (while bops they’re not that good).

CMDLG would be the weakest and that’s just because it’s in the same vein as La Reina, so it feels a little “redundant”.

This sounds so good on speakers :chick1:
