Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers (Universal) debuts at number one on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, with the highest on-demand stream total of the week. (The Billboard Canadian Albums chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums and streaming equivalent albums). With over 23,000 total consumption units, it is the highest one week total since Adele’s 30 in November 2021. It is his fifth consecutive chart-topping album and first since Black Panther: The Album in February 2018. All 18 songs from the album enter in the top 50 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, led by “N95” at No. 2, “Die Hard” at No. 5, “United In Grief” at No. 8 and “Father Time” at No. 10. “N95’s” No. 2 debut matches his highest chart position as main artist with 2017’s “Humble.”

 

Two more new releases debut in the top ten this week. Florence + The Machine’s Dance Fever (Universal) comes in at No. 7, their fourth straight top 5 album and first since 2018’s High As Hope reached No. 2. Black Keys’ Dropout Boogie (Warner) lands at No. 8, scoring the highest album sales total for the week. It surpasses the No. 12 peak of their last album, 2021’s Delta Kream.

 

Charlotte Cardin scores a big consumption increase following her four wins at last week’s Juno Awards, as the album of the year, Phoenix (Sony), leaps 192-60.
