Miley Cyrus Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Quote President Joe Biden's latest approval rating for May 2022 is lower than former President Donald Trump's rating for May 2018, showing that the latter was more highly regarded by the public at the same points in their presidencies. Comparing May 20, 2018, to May 20, 2022, Trump's lead over Biden was not by much, according to the data shared by FiveThirtyEight. Biden scored an approval rating of 40.7 percent, while Trump scored 42.4 percent, a lead of less than 2 percentage points. The FiveThirtyEight data considers several different polls and takes into account the quality, recency, sample size and partisan tendencies of each one. In recent months, the Biden administration has been plagued by criticisms over issues like rising inflation, border policies and a nationwide baby formula shortage that is leaving many American families in fear or despair. A new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Research released Friday showed that Biden's approval rating dipped to 39 percent, the lowest of his presidency, signaling trouble for the Democratic Party ahead of the coming midterm elections. https://www.newsweek.com/joe-bidens-approval-rating-sinks-below-donald-trumps-1708787
vuelve88 Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Wow. This is really surprising considering all of Joe Biden's attempts to appeal to nobody.
Selegend Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 (edited) Its pretty much common sense at this point that Republicans are winning next presidential election And im not happy about it, but its a fact Edited May 23, 2022 by Selegend
bidet Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 let's hope he doesn't really consider running again in 2024 or Kamala

Trent W Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 (edited) Well Trump at least gave his base what they wanted(or pretended to try) Biden is hated by republicans and disappointed democrats, plus the hate he had already by the deep left. No one is here for him rn. Edited May 23, 2022 by Trent W
Pop Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 America is so embarrassing. The fact that the unhinged man-swine polled higher is quite telling of the low intelligence American voters have.

Nano Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Not surprising to me. I genuinely believe wokeism is pushing centrist Americans to vote Republican.

Anyway, this isn’t that surprising. Trump was loved by dumbass Republicans and hated by Democrats. Biden is currently hated by Republicans and disliked by tons of Democrats
BOOMBAYAH Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 We had two back-to-back exciting presidents with Trump and Obama. Obama was "cool" and Trump gave us PERSONA. His old tweets still go viral on Twitter today. Biden is both incompetent, and boring.
NoisYBoY Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Republicans are gonna sweep later this year and in '24

ATRL Moderator Bloo Posted May 23, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted May 23, 2022 I hate Trump with all my heart. But he gave his base what they wanted. Biden has given even centrist/conservative Democrats absolutely nothing. He couldn't even bolster a fight to pass voting rights. Let alone expanding Medicare to include vision, dental, and hearing, and several other centrist policies he campaigned on. So, it's not too surprising that Biden's strategy to sit back, do nothing, and appeal to no one has sank his popularity beneath Trump's at this point during his presidency.

Many of his tweets/comments were hilarious though, I’ll give him that.
byzantium Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Biden and the dems are playing politics without even understanding the game. They will keep losing until they learn that a platform of “we are not the other guys” is not a winning platform. You need to give ideas.

Didn't Biden promise his donors in private that "nothing will fundamentally change" while in public he was saying he wanted to do all this stuff with student debt relief and medicare expansion. All we got was skyrocketing gas/energy prices and record levels of inflation while wages stay the same making everything so expensive and creating a cost of living crisis. He can do some things to win him some approval points like legalizing marijuana + freeing nonviolent drug offenders and providing student debt relief by executive order but he won't do it because his donors will pounce on him. This strategy of sit back and do nothing is really gonna hurt him. Edited May 23, 2022 by Miley Cyrus
Bang Up Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Trump pre-pandemic still barely at 42.5%. Is this supposed to be a big WIN for trump? Having to reach back to before he did nothing but spread conspiracy theories as thousands of americans died to find a poll where he was favored more than biden? When it comes to Biden's polling, it's 100% the fault of the Democrats. Zero messaging. Zero pushback on lies from the right. The Dem establishment just sits back and lets lies and conspiracy theories take over Facebook and other social media sites because they're too stupid to do anything about it. The manufactured CRT, border, trans crises. The manufactured outrage over wokeism. It's all resonating with middle America and Dems are just like, "IDK what to do".

OK, but that's not how government works. The President himself doesn't have the power to do this things on his own. Congress has to pass bills regarding these issues and there are two Dems who won't vote to end the filibuster. When it comes to passing actual bills, the Dems are good and can get things done IF Sinema and Manchin were tossed and replaced by two better Dems. When it comes to Trump giving his base what they wanted, his base just wanted him to attack people they didn't like and "trigger the libs". They didn't care about policy, so in that regard it was easy to follow through. He also had issues getting actual bills passed because Congress, as always, never does its job. Biden's base wants actual bills passed, but that's not on Biden.
