Bussea Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 (edited) chile i’m slowly uploading my library to apple music, and one of the files i’m trying to upload is the original homophobic mix of Picture to Burn by Taylor but for some reason every time it finishes uploading to my apple music it switches to the edited version despite me being able to play the og version in itunes. is there a way i can stop this from happening because I have multiple alt mixes/explicts that i don’t want to get ****** up i even changed the title, but it still switched it to the non gay edit Edited May 23, 2022 by Bussea
Slayn Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 It switches on your phone but stays homophobic in iTunes on the Mac?

I uploaded it twice the original with the title unedited and it plays as the edited version on both but the second version with the edited title plays the original lyric on my computer but edited on my phone

If you youtube to mp3 the homophobic version and change the title from there, it should upload as homophobic sksksks.

Vespertine Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Try putting in your library with a different title? Like “Picture to Burn (Original Version)” or something, so that it won’t try to match it with Apple Music’s copy. I have a bunch of alternate recordings of Björk songs from her special box sets, and they all get replaced with the regular versions if I don’t retitle them. I think it’s just trying to be helpful but ☠️

thetea Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 i don't think you can. i tried the same thing. when you upload your own song files to apple music servers, it matches the audio to songs in their database so you can stream the version they have. it's matching this version up with the re-released version since they're identical besides one sentence. You'll have to edit the song in some way in a different software by editing the start out or editing the song in some way so that apple music doesn't match it to the re-released version

Taylor Nation is too strong.
The7thStranger Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Apple Music does this. It's trying to match the file in your library to an iTunes version, which will absolutely wreak havoc on your collection. It happened to me, and I called Apple to complain and get my money back. It's an awful service.

I canceled the day I signed up and had the mad money back in my account two days later. I'll never go back.
Achilles. Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 This is weird. I just checked and AM did replace my Picture to Burn with the Gay Rights censored version, but they did NOT replace my ME! with the your kids failed English class edited version. It’s a witch hunt against homophobes I’m afraid.
UseYourIllusion2002 Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 I’m able to edit my library, even if it matches with the AM version. I think I turned in the iCloud music library?
