Yeah she was really huge at her peak. She was the Billboard top artist of 1997.

Damn, that’s crazy. I only know her bc she stole the man & style of a former Real Housewives star so for some reason I assumed she wasn’t a huge singer.

She was a big teen country artist that did well on country/adult contemporary radio and her first 3 major label albums were multiplatinum successes. She attempted a pop crossover in the early 00s after scoring a hit with the Coyote Ugly soundtrack but it wasn't sustained when she released her first real pop album and it tanked. She went back to country a few years later with one decently performing album before her success waned.

Love Takes Time being one of Mariah’s biggest chart hits is always so strange

Levitating’s placement/label is disingenuous. They either credit DaBaby or if they just want to credit the solo version then they should take away the points of the remix for it’s true position. It’s giving historical revisionism

So what? Both have songs that are far bigger, relevant and impactful than others on this list.

How have I never heard the number one song? I just checked and it has pitiful youtube views and streams for the biggest female song of all time

Exactly!

If they were to remove the points from the remix, and just credit the solo version, the song would fall seeing as that’s what contributed more than 50% of its chart run.

The controversy surrounding the song and the artist credit is pathetic anyway, and always was.

:rip:

Also, “Levitating” hasn’t actually been added to BB’s list yet. The OP has just updated it accordingly given the estimates made by chart predictors (who are actually very accurate) on other sites.

Beyoncé only having 3 entries though. Surprised SL didn't make it. Still good, she was such a hot 100 queen before.

Destiny's Child also making it. :clap3:

Saying that Levitating remix points need to be removed if it is credited solo is dumb considering many of these songs on the list have different remixes that contributed to their points and are not credited, should points for all of them be removed just because they are not credited? It is literally all counting towards the same song anyways. :deadbanana4:

A song like Save Your Tears wouldn't even be on this list if we removed the solo points (since it is credited towards the remix) most of its points came from the solo version not the remix.

By that flawed logic, a lot of these song placements would be 'disingenuous' :rip:

The remix and the solo version are the same track. There are plenty of songs on this list who benefited from a slightly altered radio edit to push them further during the hey days of radio, some of these songs benefited from the right B-side added to the CD-single or plenty of versions released during the hey days of physical music. And some of these placements were in the same position like Levitating like Save Your Tears and still made the list.

Yes exactly. From No No No to Telephone; she always had at least one top 10 entry every year for almost every year since 1997-2010 except maybe 2004/5. Her single runs almost as good as Mariah/Rihanna/Ariana. This doesn't include all the top 20/40 hits that she got as well as hits like Listen or Upgrade You that were huge with low peaks..
