Dark Phoenix Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 And this was while it was released same day on Peacock (in the US). Another hit for Jenny, the soundtrack was also successful. Source: https://www.boxofficemojo.com/releasegroup/gr380064261/?ref_=bo_ydw_table_23

Alyssa Edwards Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Yes. The trailer is atrocious, i can't believe anyone would want to put money into this piece of ****. But i live for Miss JLO making moves.

Broken Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 The lies in this thread . 2M budget? Successful soundtrack? The movie AND the soundtrack flopped. Chart performance for Marry Me Chart (2022) Peak position Australian Albums (ARIA)[16] 90 Belgian Albums (Ultratop Wallonia)[17] 132 Spanish Albums (PROMUSICAE)[18] 90 UK Digital Albums (OCC)[19] 40 UK Soundtrack Albums (OCC)[20] 6 US Billboard 200[21] 135 US Soundtrack Albums (Billboard)[22] 5 A BOMB.
NausAllien Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 On a reported budget of 23 million + advertising, the movie was a flop. It BARELY break even (not even 100% certain). Studios don't make movies JUST to break even. They want to EARN money. I don't think it's JLo's fault though. The genre is dead.
Dark Phoenix Posted May 23, 2022 Author Posted May 23, 2022 Quote Marry Me became the most-streamed day-and-date film on Peacock, according to Comcast CEO and chairman Brian L. Roberts.[7][33][34] In April 2022, Deadline Hollywood reported that over six million Peacock accounts had streamed the film. And then Pa Ti was a successful single with a 3xP cert in the US and also in certifications in Mexico, Poland and Brazil. On My Way did good on radio and Marry Me too in digital sales, overall kinda good results for a soundtrack.
Junlin Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 and it’s a MPG movie available in Chinese theaters, which is difficult to achieve not everyone has that.
SavagePapi Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Queen of Rom-Coms! I remember when ATRL said it would barely hit $40M, then said it would barely hit $50M to break even. Now it does, and ya'll come up with something else. $50M at the box office, and another estimated 6M Peacock accounts that streamed the film. It also became the most-streamed day-and-date film on Peacock, the most streamed film its opening weekend and the #1 film on Valentine's Day (a first for a rom-com since 2014). The film did well.

ATRL members say a lot of things, and there’s lots of JLo haters on here. Luckily they don’t reflect the GP, even if they think they do ? This forum also said the movie was panned, yet it’s one of the best romantic comedies of the year, critically and by audience. Also, the fact that this was able to go in cinemas in China months after being available on streaming, with a Western lead says a lot. Edited May 23, 2022 by insomniac
CosTaSsSs Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 If only this wasn't released the same day on peacock and theaters, it would have done better numbers! Still good for her.
KeirGrey Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 2x it's budget and a same day streaming relesae means it's defo at least a moderate success.
