Severus Snape Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 she's tri-bi so you have to multiply that number for 3 then 2. That gives you 180M records

I doubt it she did 30 mill in the us which will make up the bulk of a songs unit sales for her biggest hits the other songs are probably around 1-2 million at most it’s like 90 Edited May 22, 2022 by Katamari
starataneori Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 saw a clip of her insta live and not her saying “Badlands was one of the biggest debut record ever” Who lied to her several times cuz
TeemoR Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 So he's saying that Closer has sold 14M in the US? Lol

Her other singles combined have 40 million certified units so 54M + 4M from album certifications = 58M. Pretty sure not all of her material is up to date so at least 100 million records sold worldwide is perfectly possible.

JorgeM Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 I love Halsey but talking about record sold is something just for losers when SPS units exit
thatsmydemi Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 She must be around 100M WW. 165M is definitely too much.
tiagol88 Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Halsey sold half of Madonna's overall actual sales...sure

Badlands - AU - Gold - NZ - N/A HFK - AU - N/A - NZ - N/A Manic - AU - Gold - NZ - N/A IICHLIWP - AU - N/A - NZ - N/A Perhaps half of that 165M comes from Closer.

Protocol Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Not much point in bringing this up when it's based on streaming-equivalent single sales...but like.....no one is really using that as a metric anymore because it's all so ludicrous and stops making any sense. 165M may as well be a random made-up number. Just like "Closer" being 14x Platinum (!?!) is also a made-up number based on an arbitrary streams-to-single-sales conversion formula. Numbers and certifications like that don't really mean anything anymore. And lmao at "sold".

Then they take all the actual album sales and shipments, streams, track equivalents and remixes of album tracks, add all those sales, streams, videos, internet radio streams, etc and again using some favourable conversion ratio and convert these into album sales. Then they will add single sales and album sales together and proudly proclaim 165M "records", having just double counted most of the discography.
