About time  Pete barely shows up, Kyle just isn’t the same without Beck and Kate got stale years ago. Will miss Aidy but it’s about time some of the newer cast get a chance to shine.

Tbh I never liked Pete as a cast member. He's not a good performer and was basically there to play himself. Good riddance. Always found Kyle awful too.

SNL's seasonal average is roughly 4.5 million viewers, which is a dip from last years at 4.8, but that was inevitable with the cycle of political and cultural events going on. I don't know what NBC's threshold is for cancellation, but that's certainly better than the majority of its broadcast programming other than sports  

 

As long as producer Lorne Michaels wants to stay on, the show's not going anywhere. He's said through acquaintances he's got about another roughly decade in him but I think it'll be another five max. I don't know if the show will survive long once Lorne leaves (NBC will certainly try with new producers), but all the older generations keep complaining the show "died" with their generation in terms of the comedy quality (which I'd argue has dipped) but its still here  

 

It's been such an important vehicle for actors from the comedy and improv circuit nationally like Second City that there'll be a huge void if the show goes. In the meantime, it's important to do a fresh sweep like this - the newbies need time to grow. Kate McKinnon's a massive star now, but she hogged a lot of attention (for good reason). Pete moreso for his drama off camera, the majority of it before he even started dating Kim.

Kate and Aidy were a shock to me, although I did notice they weren't in as many sketches recently.  They both were hilarious but I'm glad they're leaving on a good note. The current female repertoire is strong though so I think they'll be able to hold it down.  The current males, idk.  Kenan is practically the only funny male but dude has been there so long lol.
