Acaban con Mick Jagger por comentario sobre Harry Styles: “No tiene una voz como la mía”

Jagger on Harry Styles: “I like Harry — we have an easy relationship. I used to wear a lot more eye make-up than him. He doesn’t have a voice like mine or move on stage like me; he just has a superficial resemblance to my younger self, which is fine — he can’t help that”

Madonna canta a Lady Gaga: 'Intentar robar mi receta es muy feo' | loc | EL MUNDO

Madonna on Gaga: "I certainly think she references me a lot in her work and sometimes I think it's amusing and flattering and well done. I can't really by annoyed by it or insulted by it because obviously i've influenced her. She's she and I'm me. When I heard it Born This Way on the radio, yes i said thats sound very familiar, it feels reductive"

Two legends accused these new twenty-something pop stars who began to dominate the world music of copying them, but what team are you? mean or legit quote?

Did Mick really say that, he's so messy :skull:

Madonna and Gaga was iconic… but Madge should’ve kept quiet especially when she copied Express Yourself :coffee:

She was a Marilyn Monroe tribute act during her peak, she stills is obsessed with the poor dead woman to this day... she never had room to speak on anyone or anything being reductive :flower3:

Madonna said it out of spite cause everyone was calling Gaga the next queen of pop meanwhile Madonna look old, washed up, and releasing terrible outdated music.

mick didn’t lie but he didn’t say it out of spite or I’ll intentions towards Harry. He simply pointed out Harry just reminds him of a much younger self and his peers.

All I know is that nobody is completely original.

The lack of self awareness is not cute.

Do people even know what the word reductive means? :rip: I often see it used as a synonym for repetitive or unoriginal which it isn’t. Like Madonna said, “look it up”.

Not this stupid comparison again. :rip:

The only similarities are they both have two words in the title, ending with "yourself" that share a common message of self-esteem/respect, they don't sound alike at all. Nobody was screaming about The Staples when Madonna released EY in 89. There isn't one mention of M sampling/copying RY on the Whosampled website, and that says it all.

The backlash Gaga received for cherry picking from Madonna (again) was deafening, and so loud that people still talk about it to this day.

OT. Why would two of the worlds biggest legends be jealous of two less successful, watered down versions of themselves? :biblio: This thread is embarrassing.

:lmao: The media/GP has been pitting the new pop girls to Madonna ever since the 80's, but nobody can beat her. :rip:

Gaga was just another face in a very long line that ended up failing miserably.

absolutely

There  is nothing original about Madonna, and Gaga was coming in and showcasing amazing talent and vocals; scoring global hits. The drama was i guess to help people remember Madonna.

Mick's shade was light hearted and there is no drama there

Not people saying there was nothing original about Madonna when she was literally the very first female pop superstar and wrote the book on music, videos and performances that Gaga followed to a T :rip: the lack of awareness:skull:

Gaga has an Oscar and much more acclaim. How is she reductive ?

Delusional as ever! Nobody said Madonna was original, but Gaga isn't either. Madonna's stamp on the music industry is more significant than those walking around with a Lobster on their head and showcasing vocals that are no different to other powerhouse vocalists. Madonna paved her way, broken down barriers and addressed taboo subjects that no one else would touch with a barge pole long before it was cool. She's the most critically acclaimed, most impactful, influential female artist who was the first female pop star to project an image of control, drive and fierce independence. She's the blueprint. Without her, today's pop culture landscape would not exist, and your fave would be lost without her, considering a good % of her career is copied from Madonna. Laurianne Gibson can certainly testify to that.

Madonna actually had a point since Gaga did have songs that were similar to hers

Mick wasn't, because he isn't Harry's main influence and he isn't even trying to emulate him :dies:

literally an old fart who wants to act bitchy to the new gen, how original..

Harry has been imitating Bowie and Jagger for years, but it's okay they are his great inspiration, the boy has talent as her favour :clap3:
