Do co-lead credits count as feats too or?

No, the article said co-lead is 100% for each artist

This is silly to be honest. I'm here for the raw numbers but not these crazy conversion rates that are honestly overinflated no matter how you divide them.

Actually HDD and ChartMasters independently arriving at the same numbers for Fine Line show that their formula is close to  the industry standard. They also got direct info from the label for Travis Scott’s update. I feel like it’s not impossible to imagine that some people in the music industry appreciate a website like this, kind of how it was proven a lot of people in the industry use Kworb.

They have consistently arrived at the same numbers that industry websites like HDD and billboard report, and they are now starting to get direct info from record labels

Xtina? She has two big features and that's all so not a good example lol

Chartmasters says she has 8,310,000 SEA (data from last week, before the update).

Her albums only add up to 3,010,000 SEA after the update.

Its at very least a great source to just check some Spotify numbers. Daily or overall

Just realized that Mr Lamar actually has 8B Spotify streams from being featured artists. He will be significantly affected too tho :gaycat6:

Exactly.

No source is perfect but it’s one of the best there is and will only continue to grow

Mediatraffic is worthless these days (at least in the streaming era) so there isn't much else.

How is that so much compared to her  57 millions total? That's like a 9% change. There's definitely worse cases and Xtina isn't the best example

2/3 of her SEA come from features :rip:

Her peak was in the 2000s, therefore most of her sales are coming from pure and digital. :rip:

In total units, she won't be affected much and that's factual.

singles sales numbers will also be affected and songs like Moves Like Jagger and Feel This Moment represent HALF of her singles sales :clown:

the Chartmasters formula gives an unfair boost to digital downloads, you see where this is going, right? :eli:

Nah it's going nowhere.  Total units of 57M decreasing to 53M or 52M isn't much.

To fix this flaw, from now on, featured acts, combined when there are several, will be allocated 50% of singles’ formats units. The lead singer will still get 100% of the total as before.

Thus, if a song has one featured singer, he will get 50% of the singles’ formats units. If there are 4 featured acts yet, each will get a fourth of these 50%, meaning 12.5%.

Rihanna, Xtina, Drake and some others about to decrease quite a bit. :rip:

As they should tbh. Featured artists getting 100% of the units is pathetic.

Britney won.

Perched for the new numbers.

Have they updated already?

Oh I'm here for this

Honestly I think they're pretty reliable maybe even more so than other reputable sources.

I only had a problem with their 100% featured counting. But now that is getting fixed so I will be fully onboard with this new formula now!

Yes everyone jumped in units. But seems that its only the YouTube formula was updated.

MJD this morning: "It’s not a glitch, we applied to artist totals the new weighting of the streaming platforms! Updates are not complete yet and someone like Drake will drop back once his features are fixed!"

Posted

Madonna won.  99% of her stuff is solo.

Drake lost.  99% of his stuff is featured.
