Some other fans throw tantrum over Taylor' achievement. It is okay. They don't have the same capacity as NYU.

She isn’t a Doctor and calling her one is a slap in the face of people who have legitimate degrees

Doctor Swift, wow. What a legend. So young and so acclaimed. Somehow she always stays there. :clap3:

I’m going to graduate from a college next year after WORKING for my diploma. Not being given it because I’m white, rich and American. next question.

Because swifties are a bunch of los*rs who have nothing going on for themselves so they have to cling to their talentless fave’s “accomplishments”.

It’s legitimately terrifying that you are in college and behave like this constantly towards a person you’ve never met, you really need to do some soul searching :deadbanana4:

This must be a career highlight. I cried like a ******* *****

Do you know what the word honorary means?

Posted

Not delusional OTH’s here too holy **** lmao. She got an “honourary” degree of fine arts for her contribution to music and art. I suggest people look up the word to know what it means. Everyone knows that it’s different from an actual degree since she never actually attended college. But in these past 15 years, she’s proved her mettle and made significant contributions to the subject which is why she was honoured with it. Imagine being so bitter and obsessive that you get mad at Taylor for something that another institution is conferring upon her as an honour. Embarrassing.

These fans are mad the only thing their faves get is bad reviews :rip:

What do you mean "even P. Diddy"? You better put some respect to Dr. Sean John Combs because not only he's an amazingly talented artist but he also gives back to his community and helps other young people to achieve their dreams of getting a good education.

Help not them locking the other thread. As they should though :clap3:

Whew that was quite a speech. The confidence, the cadence, the eloquence, the humour, the intelligence, the self awareness, the likeability. She needs to run for office soon and I think she will and we will lose her as a musician :'(

As an actual Ph.D. student that starts in the fall, I had a big smirk in my face throughout this thread.

Anyways, what is sad is how universities have had to come up with creative ways to find more funding, including giving honorary awards to celebrities (not a Ph.D. like some are saying, if it was an academic degree, then it would have credits attached and used for other degrees...duh), because our US federal and state governments have for the past 30 years or so, stopped funding our universities and Ph.D. programs. That is right, PhD. programs are not funded by the universities, they are funded by the federal research grant awards that Ph.D. professors get, that is one of many reasons why so few students get accepted, they can't afford to support many students.

And some of you are already in your 30s and should be ashamed of yourselves (you know who ya'll are); the rest of you carry on.

Which subject is your PhD gonna be?

I don't want to give out details since there are only a few Ph.D. programs with my focus, and doing so will be like giving away key personal life details, but my focus falls under the more general human sciences field.

Its a doctorate of fine arts. She has routinely shown her depth of knowledge in the subject matter. She spent 15 years proving it and her knowledge. She has been routinely quizzed in interviews on her depth of knowledge over the years.

If they gave her a PHD in medicine, it would be an embarrassment and irresponsible. They are showing her experience and knowledge that is well documented is worthy of a degree.

Plus the students have an elite honor of ‘graduating’ with Taylor Swift and it boosts the NYU prestige to have her as a “graduate”.

Not a whole doctorate :bibliahh:

Happy for Taylor. Congrats to her! :clap3:
