It was obvious tho..

No one is hearing about it and her net worth haven't changed much :giraffe:

That's OK tho.. No one is going to pull a Rihanna like she did.

Selena, Ariana, (stating Halsey and Kesha is unnecessary :rip:) actually didn't achieve success with the makeup either.

I was told by ATRL that Haus Labs was a highly successful business venture of Lady Gaga, what happened?

You guys have to stop being stuck in 2018 :rip: Rare Beauty is massive rn

I have the rare beauty tinted moisturizer and I’m not even a Selena fan :rip: I love it. As someone who just wants to cover small blemishes, Rare have much better everyday products compared to Fenty.

Everyone is talking about that tinted moisturizer. My friend who works in make up says she is shocked at how good the Rare Beauty brand is.

I mean it’s true, the launch had very few products and it’s clear that HL is pretty distinct from other celeb makeup brands in that it did not start with any major partners. That said, the brand is undeniably a success. Sephora is still top dog and while I’d rather go to Ulta any day of the week, you can’t deny that Ulta just doesn’t have the same level of prestige that Sephora does.

So the launch flopped...

... but it stayed in business for 4 years...

... and it's expanding to Sephora nation-wide now?

From August 2020 to February 2022, a total of 37 employees left Haus Laboratories, which employs roughly 50 people at a given time, a review of LinkedIn profiles by Insider found.

Former employees referred to periods of especially high turnover in the spring and fall of 2021 as the "mass exoduses."

It's weird that for someone who was synonymous with extravagant, avant garde looks, the makeup was so plain and basic. And now the relaunch is about "clean" looks :doc:

This was its biggest mistake tbh, and the relaunch sucks.

even Trixie Mattel has more exciting makeup palettes

How sad :monkey: I guess she's back to making music now that her other ventures flopped :giraffe:

Um this doesn't prove anything :skull: People left and were quickly replaced so the employee #s stayed the same.

So it was like Katy Perry's career trajectory since 2017? :deadbanana2:

The launch "allegedly was a flop" according to this BI article, but the brand itself was very financially successful in the long-term.  HL's main issue was lack of uniqueness in product offering, so even though things sold well, it was a "flop" to the beauty community due to a lack of general excitement and awareness.  It seems like they've found an underserved niche with the "clean highly-pigmented" space focusing on makeup artists for their upcoming re-launch, so maybe this will make the brand stand out.

It's referring to employee turnover - the people who left were replaced, so the numbers stay stable.

OT: Employee poison!
