Weld_E Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Which compliment holds more weight and which you prefer to be? I think handsome is superior because technically most people can become hot through a strict diet and regiment workout routine, but being called handsome is mostly due to genetics.
Perfect Crime Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 (edited) Gorgeous >>> pretty >>> handsome >>> hot Calling someone hot is giving sex ONLY while the other compliments make more of an overall good impression imo Edited May 17, 2022 by Perfect Crime

suburbannature Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 People change what they say depending on how they know you are the setting. Like if it’s someone I know in a casual setting or a cigarette, it’s “hot.” But work colleagues or people in public will typically say “handsome.” Or sometimes a guy interested in more than just ******* will say “handsome” to appear classy.
thetea Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 handsome is like what your mum would call you when you dress up nice but hot is something that someone you'd want to date or whatever would call you
luckythisway Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Hot is more about looks whereas handsome is someone who looks good but also has a nice personality & presents themself well
Rotunda Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 (edited) I’m 23 but have a really young face, so whenever strangers tell me I’m cute/handsome I assume they mean “aw that’s a cute kid” and not “oh that’s a really attractive guy” Hot means more to me cause I hear it less. 305 Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Handsome. "Hot" is a generic term for someone that is attractive for what is deemed to be "sexy" while "handsome" seems to have a deeper meaning, usually that person has a certain feature that separates them from the rest. I also think cute>hot
byzantium Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 I think people use the word handsome more liberally. I would rather be called hot because they would mean it...especially by a guy I like.
JoeAg Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 handsome tbh i blush everytime! more girls have called me handsome than guys, guys typically go for hot or cute for me, but handsome feels… powerful. i love it so much lol
Devin Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Handsome - its more formal and applies not just looks but your overall charisma and how you carry yourself. Hot kinda feels like someone’s lusting/piece of meat.
John Slayne Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 hot however, i'm tired of all of these - handsome, hot, cute, sexy, etc. i wanna be called smart, funny, interesting, a good company, something related to my personality for a change
Nightingale Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Hot. I feel like this means you’re insanely attractive on another level. Handsome to me feels a bit overused especially if you spend time on any dating apps. It’s obviously still a nice compliment but I feel like it applies to everyone since everyone can be handsome in some way.
Superbitch Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Hot>>>> handsome you can be cute or whatever. Being hot is better imo… sexy, more attractive.
brazil Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Handsome gives kid/teen getting compliments from adults. Hot >>>>>

Cryptique Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 I always felt uncomfortable when i get a compliment Felt like being studied under a microscope
Mohit Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 (edited) A handsome guy with an average body (those sex and the city type guys from the 90s) >>> a protein gulping hot guy who is not gonna age gracefully the moment he stops working out Edited May 17, 2022 by Mohit
Buddy Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Handsome can be a mom compliment that doesn't always hold weight. Hot can't be misinterpreted.
saintspice Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 depends on the situation. i prefer being called hot if i’m out at a bar or club but prefer being called handsome if i’m at a dinner or meeting groups of friends where i don’t know everyone. like if i want to flirt or hook up i want to be called hot but if i want to connect on a friend level i like handsome
