it depends on where you live I guess. look for your local health authority and if they have information online or call them. you might have to travel like I will have to.

People have pandemic fatigue. So this will spread so much, especially with so much disinformation and the politicization of health. Doesn't help that they're trying to make this into a gay disease.

It kind of is though, most people infected with the virus seem to be gay men... but perhaps not the monogamous kind lol

Two new cases in my country are a 51 year old woman and a 19 year old man who live over 100 miles apart and recently had contact with travelers from USA. :katie:

I get not wanting to create a new stigma, but the data shows that those who have the highest risk are men who regularly have multiple sexual partners in a short period of time.

if we don't speak directly to the people who have the highest risk and suggest that they change their behavior at least in the short term, it feels like we're basically letting more people get sick to avoid a stigma.

It's extremely hard to talk about this. Because I noticed online when this is mentioned, all the replies will say it's homophobic to say that the people most at risk are non-monogamous gay men. When an outbreak happens, there's always one group or several that will be most at risk. But having this about gay men being so politicized is making things worse. As it reminds me of Covid.

Hopefully with people who catch it isolating and others getting vaccines it will curve soon. Seems most infections happened around end of june and early july. I signed up for diff vaccinations but no luck as of yet

It’s a double-edge sword. Keep in mind that school is out. We have no idea what the numbers will be when people get back into classrooms and dorms. You don’t want people thinking it’s simply a gay disease and not get tested or treated, because that is what will happen. A woman just contracted it.

you seriously believe that the CDC telling gay men not to have sex for an indeterminate period of time is going to stop them?

Gays should decide collectively to stop hooking up for a month and get vaccinated in the meantime. The straights will never know about it and this can be over.
