“I wasn't at the taping. Got the info second hand from someone I know who was there. Here's what I know:
-Kelly called it a covers EP. Not sure if that means it's short or they may just not be calling it a full fledge album b/c it's all covers
-My friend said it is coming out the day before Jurassic World (Chris Pratt was on to promote), but that seems odd to me as that would be a Thursday. i'm guessing my friend misheard or Kelly misspoke. I'm assuming the release date is June 10th
-Happier Than Ever is one of the covers included
-Kelly mentioned there is a Whitney cover but didn't reveal which song (hopefully Run to You)”

 

 

Could this Whitney song be the one on the EP? She performed this today for NBC Upfronts

Oh that’s a good one! We’re hearing it may only be 6 songs or so but that’s a rumor. I’d also figure it would be a streaming release only. Weird it’s being released on a Thursday

But...but...but...I want an EP of every single cover she has ever done on the show in brilliant studio quality. Mixed. Mastered. Marvelous. 

 

I will be grateful for what we do get though. Kelly doesn’t have it in her to release anything short of incredible. She is such a national treasure.

…though i do really hope a new album is coming soon, i need some new pop rock or r&b from this lovely lady back in my life

Agreed but I think the problem they run into is licensing those songs for commercial release. I’m sure it takes time and money to do these types of releases.

Those viral Kellyokes had millions of views (now removed, but uploaded to another account) and so many people have been asking for full, recorded covers. And I’m sure they will do volumes 2, 3, 4, etc…

She mentioned in a Live video that she is hoping to get the new studio album out this year sometime and just wanted to get your life “rock steady” before jumping into a huge project. So maybe a fall release

I knew when she said she had a new music project coming but it wasn't new music it would be "Kellyoake", but I kinda wondered if it would just be a compilation of her covers on the show or has she actually recorded them?

We are hoping she recorded them as full length songs. They have a recording booth studio at her show where she said she’s been recording for her album and other things

I enjoyed more of those rock-oriented covers she sang on her show - Happier than Ever, Bad Habits, It Must Have Been Love, Confident, Chasing Cars, Welcome to the Black Parade, Dream On, Believer.

 

Then she has cool ones like 7 rings, How Will I Know, Mine. Then the subtle ones that are so beautiful like Falling, She Used to Be Mine, I'm with You, Tennessee Whiskey.
