Mr. Duff Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 The longevity Hope Disney pulls their **** together and capitalize from the (mini) success of this. 2
OrgVisual Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 They will breakeven at 400M and honestly will make a lot more money through Disney+ so looks like a win for Pixar 1

fridayteenage Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Biggest domestic hits by East Asian director/directing team, that are not continuations in a series/'universe': Crazy Rich Asians 174.8 Conjuring 137.4 Elemental 133.2 and rising afaik. It's a choice how CRA2 development is still in limbo. The cinematic Invasion of Privacy.

Blue Rose Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 I can’t wait to see this. I need the digital release NOW
poki Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 The way this pulled a Madonna_Vogue.mp3 and became an unexpected success 1
FlyOnTheWall Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 This is still one of the biggest positive surprises of the year one of the very few movies I actually went to the theaters for twice, it's just so so endearing. Really happy it turned out a semi-sized hit despite edgy online-cineasts wanting it to flop so badly 1
Frozen99 Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 happy the movie eventually did well, hopefully it breaks even theatrically alone
MusicLoverDude Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Went ahead and saw this today. It was kind of a last minute decision. Didn't think I'd like it much but WOW this movie is much better than I expected. I relate to Ember so much and both her and Wade are such great characters Spoiler Ember's scene with her father after Wade's presumed death broke me into tears

On the other hand, I do really like how they keep it as a simple love story. Like Wade and Ember are just ordinary people, they are not superheroes who are trying to change the world. This. Having Ember and Wade as normal everyday employees was such a good move. As someone that has worked in retail/food service almost all of my adult life I related a lot to the scenes Ember had in the family store.

Lovett Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 What a beautiful film. Pixar did it again! Loved the queer couples and the story was so thoughtfully done. Glad this ended up being a hit for them as it really deserved it.
playboi Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 This felt a little rushed tbh, however the animations and colors were gorgeous
