BNF91 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 What a turn around for this film. Impeccable legs everywhere have set this up for potentially a $400-450M+ finish. Many markets still to open in too, including huge ones like Japan and the UK. Some great momentum that Pixar desperately needed. 2

Such a shame they let the budget get away from them, but I'm glad it's not turning into the bomb everyone predicted it to be. So excited to see this soon! 1
poki Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 It's like they purposely sent it to Cannes to be harassed by all the snobs I swear they want Pixar to die. 1
UnanimousBB16 Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 Glad this film is somewhat having a "Puss In Boots" run in theaters. 2

poki Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 Disney when they see their sabotage failed: They really thought they could pull a Treasure Planet on us again!
fridayteenage Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 they probably wanted to have 2 consecutive years of pushing asian directed/starring pixar films onto disney+ but were told it'd be a bad look
lillavend3r Posted July 8, 2023 Posted July 8, 2023 This was so cute omg! Lauv's song is so nostalgic kinda teared up when they were dancing maybe the cuteness did something to me I don't really get how the motor oil in the water is a plothole weren't big ass boats pushing the water towards their direction everytime it passed? 1

Mr. Duff Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 So happy it's getting good holds in BO due to audience feedback. It's a great film, nearly cried in one scene (that you all probably already know if you watched it). I also didn't like the Lauv song but hearing it with a scene in the movie makes it 100% better. That scene is so innocent and pure, I love it. 1
bjorn Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 One of the gay guys in front of me was BAWLING his eyes out throughout the whole movie. Literally moaning so loud that everyones heads including all the kids were turning 5
ALA Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 (edited) This was such a cute movie, I saw it again couple days ago. It plays more as a great date movie though as opposed to a kids film Disney putting Turning Red and Luca on D+ was so idiotic. This film shows letting it play in theaters will have it be not a total financial loss Edited July 13, 2023 by ALA
OrgVisual Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 What a fantastic movie Such a classy love story about race and social class On one hand, I understand the criticism of not having a villain / action-packed and not digging deep into the water-leaking story. On the other hand, I do really like how they keep it as a simple love story. Like Wade and Ember are just ordinary people, they are not superheroes who are trying to change the world. 3
