D/X Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 (edited) It feels like there's no noise for this movie whatsoever and it's premiering in a month They better pray that reception in Cannes is outstanding so there's word of mouth at least.... It would be bleak for Pixar if this bombs or has 70% or below in RT, after Disney did them dirty with the straight-to-streaming releases and Lightyear bombing... Twitter people have been focusing way too much on Marvel and its supposed downfall when Pixar is the one in trouble. Edited May 20, 2023 by D/X
poki Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Less than 90% RT for Pixar is a failure. Disney as a whole is criticized nowadays for not having classic villains anymore, it feels like the writers are just projecting their personal life stories of generational trauma. Puss in Boots The Last Wish had classic villains and look how good that one is. Pixar working on more sequels again makes it clear that they themselves know they have a problem with their current writers. How many more movies can they do of "I want _ but my parents say no"
BNF91 Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Bombs away. Currently tracking for $28-38M OW. Cannes screening needs to have an impact.
Broken Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 It's over. Reviews are mixed . My prediction: 65-70 on RT.
poki Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 It got 5 min standing ovation just like Indiana Jones It's over, RIP Pixar I suppose Redditors and YouTube comments were talking **** about this movie since day 1, what does that say about Pixar's executive team if random nobodies like me have a better idea of what would be acclaimed?
Dark Phoenix Posted May 29, 2023 Posted May 29, 2023 Couldn’t care less about this one, looks very generic and dull. 3
Roberto Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 This will probably flop. There are so many hit movies right now (Guardians, Fast X, TLM, Spiderman, still a bit of Mario, etc).
Almodusa Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 The only promo for this that I see are the digital ads at subway stations nn
poki Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 They already fired more folks from P*xar. They know they will lose money on this one
rihannasbe$tfrnd Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Inside Out was terrible, idk why they thought a remake would do well
Kayseri Mantisi Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 5 minutes ago, deal dough said: up to 64% now
GraceRandolph Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Pixar lost their magic A LONG time ago tbh. The layoffs are really sad though.
Starfish Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Just put it on streaming without cinema screenings and save yourself the embarrassment .
poki Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 WaiT movie scores usually go down as more reviews come in, how did it go up? Inb4 they are accused of bribes which wouldn't be the first time it happened

Sexyzinger Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Even on the fresh RT reviews, critics are shading it. The film is so f***ed!
Lovett Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/elemental_2023 Up to 80% on RT!
