The dramatic reactions to this album are so weird to me. This Hell and Hurricanes are the only 'basic' tracks here, and even Hurricanes pops a bit. I hated This Hell when it first came out, and I still don't love it, but it makes a lot more sense in the album. She's in her pop/rock BAG on Forgiveness and Phantom. The strongest part of the album is the mid-section, back-to-back-to-back-to-back bangers. Her voice is super strong. I just don't get the hate, at all. :lmao: The album is inoffensive at worst. Feels like people are being extra hard on her for someeeeee mysterious reason.

Is it because you can only sniff poppers to a few tracks? Is it because you have to reflect on your childhood trauma now when you were planning on getting fisted to skull crushing beats instead? She gave us a little bit of everything... It's an odd reception (outside of the critical acclaim, lol!).

the way people on here keep saying this kind of thing in defence of this album is baffling to me??

is it projecting? because I'm really not seeing the connection :rip:

All of us complaining over engineering and mixing issues; the lack of sonic cohesion that made her debut EP phenomenal while acknowledging her recent work is great but unpolished and constructively wanting her to be able to filter her work better

the blind stans: is it because you can’t do bloom ghb and poppers in a random pissing orgy to this ~deeply Em0t1onaL~ album

I think this is my favourite album of the year. She is one of the most talented artists in pop right now!

Literally :ahh: the stans of this album KNOW it's crap so they're going extra hard defending it. I can literally picture them sitting through the four minutes of Forgiveness suffering

Nothing in here comes close to Love me 4 me or Bad Friend, maybe only Holy

She should've impersonated Utada more than BTW Gaga

I was just thinking that this felt like a bad imitation of Utada’s Bad Mode :rip:

:clap3: people have pigeonholed her into this niche ever since RINA. they complained when STFU!, comme des garçon, chosen family, bad friend dropped and now this album just because she’s deviating from people’s weird expectations of her

lmaoooo. damn, didn't know ATRL gurlies were all sound engineers. that's my bad.

"the lack of sonic cohesion" -- wtf was Sawayama to you? :lmao: I must have missed how perfectly STFU, Chosen Family, and Love Me 4 Me gel together.

it's just not sticking...

This is literally her most cohesice project. The quirky edgy gays in here are literally complaining that it "sounds too one-note!!!".

Yall can't even get your story straight :deadbanana4:

When you hate an album so much, post about it 2929292 times in this thread, get dragged and then ignored, so you have to start screaming "people who stan this know its ****" :rip:

"Why are you so scared of falling? (Hold your head up high)"

I went through RINA and the lyric above from this masterpiece can lowkey be connected to Catch Me In The Acclaim:

"Mama, look at me now, I'm flying, I'm flying" / "But mama, look at us now, high above the clouds"

I might be reaching obv, but I'm gonna believe it is.

No, it is all connected even just from the fact that her three projects ALL are about literally the same theme. That's what makes the girls talking about cheesiness even sillier when remembering the debut had lyrics like "happiest when I'm with you online".

"The girl inside is healing" - this is the album she's been working towards making for 5 years. It's so great to be a fan of her brilliant discography bexause it truly feels like a rewarding trilogy about loneliness, identifying trauma and healing.

Flavour of the Month is really good, really wish it made the standard instead of something like This Hell nn

I went through her entire discography today and it's such an emotional ride. This album in particular feels incredibly healing and looking at it as part of a larger body of work / project makes it more special. :chick3:

Half of the album sounds like random Hilary Duff / Kelly Clarkson b-sides from 2004. Nobody asked for these throwaways, Rina really thought she did something with such banal songs like Phantom... I don't blame people for being so disappointed with this.

Finished listening to this just now and yikes

this is not good at all :deadbanana2:

Very disappointed, let's hope she releases RS3 soon i guess :rip:
