Julia Fox Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I think my major problems with this album is that the choruses are such a letdown and waste all the potential the songs had, it happened with HTG, TH, CITA, Holy. So far the only one with a good chorus is Forgiveness…
mistertsa Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 The 1-2-3-4 punch of Holy, Your Age, Imagining and Frankenstein
Julia Fox Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Your Age is very interesting maybe my fave so far
wish Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Your Age is definitely the best song, followed by Frankenstein, Imagining, and Hold The Girl. The rest are either mid or sleep inducing
WildAmerican Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 i like it, but Forgiveness is kinda giving movie end credit song
Scandalous Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 (edited) Holy-Frankenstein are definitely the highlights along w the title track and SMLTJ but overall im underwhelmed it’s all just so derivative and messy, even on the few songs i like imagining is literally a slayyyter song and SMLTJ sounds like it came from American Life Edited September 16, 2022 by Scandalous

LeMésTragique Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Hold The Girl Holy Your Age Imagining Frankenstein An EP
Marla Singer Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Forgiveness Holy Your Age Imagining Frankenstein These songs are collectively much better than the 5 she released in advance. I do also like Hold The Girl and Catch Me In The Air though. Overall it's pretty good, not as good as SAWAYAMA but that was always going to be tough to follow.
Vespertine Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Hm. Mixed bag for me. Need to listen more, but so far I’m wishing the album was more like Holy-Your Age-Imagining-Frankenstein as a whole, which manage to convey her sentiments while still being sleek, exciting, and inventive. Too much of the album feels like “Chosen Family,” which is pretty much the only skip on SAWAYAMA for me, because it’s too mawkish and generic production-wise. Overall definitely feeling underwhelmed But I will keep listening and see if other tracks grow on me.
Haze Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I love reading the acclaim. The girls that get it get it. The way I still haven't grown bored of CMITA and TH even though i've played them to death already.
Dragonfly Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 the bridge of Your Age reminds me of Natalia's Perfectionist album if you ignoreThis Hell and Imagining, the album is pretty solid but I don't understand how it got an 80+ metacritic score
State of Grace. Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 "Why are you so scared of falling? (Hold your head up high)" I went through RINA and the lyric above from this masterpiece can lowkey be connected to Catch Me In The Acclaim: "Mama, look at me now, I'm flying, I'm flying" / "But mama, look at us now, high above the clouds" I might be reaching obv, but I'm gonna believe it is.
KasioKas Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 y'all were being dramatic, this is fine, it's cohesive and she didn't take any risks but it's fine. To Be Alive, Imagining & Frankestein jumps as my faves from 1st listen.
MonsterJohn Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Nothing in here comes close to Love me 4 me or Bad Friend, maybe only Holy She should've impersonated Utada more than BTW Gaga

sweetkiss Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I love RINA so much, but what this album suffers from is her constant yelling and melodramatics with no climax. Multiple songs can be blended into one and we wouldn't lose much. In my opinion the highlights were Frankestein, Imagining, Holy and Catch me in the air which was single anyways. Everything else was like listening to constant bridge of Let it go from Frozen Ill listen to it more, but this was such a shocker coming from classic Sawayama.
DancingShoes Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I enjoyed this especially the middle of the album! This Hell is still my least favorite thing here but it does fit well in the context of the album. My favorites were Frankenstein, Holy and Forgiveness.
ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted September 16, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted September 16, 2022 There's no excuse in the year 2022 to confuse Dr. Frankenstein with his monster ???????
