Holy is my favorite song on the album. And it would have really worked as the lead or one of the promo singles too :jonny5:

This is shockingly mid :deadbanana4: Hurricanes is the only really good song for me. I like Catch Me In The Air too I guess :rip:

If you told me she went into the studio for this album with a mood board of Steps, S Club, UK Garage and DCOM music I would believe you.

Does anyone have an estimation of when we will be able to listen to Flavor of the Month by the way?

oop. I truly think the album would've been better off if it was 11 tracks

I like it, very mid-2000s pop album excellence

Holy reminds me of tATu I love it

I adore the album, just one big chorus after the other. Dare I say that while Sawayama felt very american inspired, this feels, despite some of the country instruments, like a proper European pop record? Maybe that accounts for some of the divide? It really has so many throwbacks for me.

You (or someone) keep saying this but it's not true; it was written during lockdown lol

It was registered with Mission U, which was a SAWAYAMA leftover. Of course they could have decided just to register Mission U with the other two because, of the inverse, they were considering reusing it for this album. Though if you have the official dates each song was written and first recorded, I'd loved to see how the record progressed. :jonny6:

Yup, and my guess honestly is that she was beginning to write HTG as she was considering which SAWAYAMA leftovers to include on the repulsive Deluxe edition - that could be why two different eras were registered together - but who knows.

I have no idea what the official dates, though - I was just going off of (a) that she said HTG would be all new stuff months and months ago, and (b) the Apple Music track-by-track specifies she wrote this song during lockdown :)

XS annihilates every single song on this. This album sounds like it was made for white gays who still put ugly white borders around their Instagram pictures

Minor Feelings, Imagining, Hurricanes, Send My Love to John & Phantom are absolute excellence :clap3:

Why did she start this era with the absolute worst song on the album?  This Hell is an abomination and while most of this album is lackluster, they all outsell This Hell at least.

It's the exact opposite for me.

Sawayama feels more european to me while Hold The Girl is like the American/disney-fied version of it.
