Hector Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Holy is my favorite song on the album. And it would have really worked as the lead or one of the promo singles too

I REALLY Love This Hell, Holy, Frankenstein! this is my first Rina album ive ever listen too and loved it first listen so i'll be giving her other stuff a go for sure! if its a lot like this album! I will probably love it. Get ready, SAWAYAMA is one of the most subversive, excellent albums of the last of the decade Once you get it, you REALLY get it.
skankle Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 This is shockingly mid Hurricanes is the only really good song for me. I like Catch Me In The Air too I guess
Augmented Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 If you told me she went into the studio for this album with a mood board of Steps, S Club, UK Garage and DCOM music I would believe you.
TalkThatRihanna Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Holy is so good How was it not a single
KatyPrismSpirit Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 the way the singles had to be This Hell Forgiveness Your Age Phantom Hurricanes
Alex Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 the mid section of this album is the clear highlight

ImpassiveThomas Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Does anyone have an estimation of when we will be able to listen to Flavor of the Month by the way?

Bloodflowers. Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I like it, very mid-2000s pop album excellence
Haze Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 I adore the album, just one big chorus after the other. Dare I say that while Sawayama felt very american inspired, this feels, despite some of the country instruments, like a proper European pop record? Maybe that accounts for some of the divide? It really has so many throwbacks for me.

Of course they could have decided just to register Mission U with the other two because, of the inverse, they were considering reusing it for this album. Though if you have the official dates each song was written and first recorded, I'd loved to see how the record progressed.

Yup, and my guess honestly is that she was beginning to write HTG as she was considering which SAWAYAMA leftovers to include on the repulsive Deluxe edition - that could be why two different eras were registered together - but who knows. I have no idea what the official dates, though - I was just going off of (a) that she said HTG would be all new stuff months and months ago, and (b) the Apple Music track-by-track specifies she wrote this song during lockdown
brooklyndaddy Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 XS annihilates every single song on this. This album sounds like it was made for white gays who still put ugly white borders around their Instagram pictures
Arthoe Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Minor Feelings, Imagining, Hurricanes, Send My Love to John & Phantom are absolute excellence
ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted September 16, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted September 16, 2022 Why did she start this era with the absolute worst song on the album? This Hell is an abomination and while most of this album is lackluster, they all outsell This Hell at least.

It's the exact opposite for me. Sawayama feels more european to me while Hold The Girl is like the American/disney-fied version of it.
AleXus Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Not a fan of this at ALL but Holy and Your Age are so good
State of Grace. Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 The way Catch Me In The Aiiiiiiiiir still goes OFF On Forgiveness and ***** she's 5/5 so far
Tedwards Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Holy sounds like a goddamn Final Fantasy boss battle go off queen
