They couldn’t do that with Putin when Russia hosted the games, but love to provoke Muslims knowingly it’s conservative beliefs.

Wow, them being trash. How surprising

Homosexuality is illegal in Qatar so I'm not sure what they were expecting?

Who even gonna go there? Like, no ma'am! These countries don't deserve my gay money if they are acting like that :nicole:

Cancel the World Cup… not sure why they won the bid to begin with.

Not them even trying to go there when being gay is illegal :deadbanana2:

And You can get a death penalty for being caught as gay

You could easily get a hotel room as a same sex couple in Russia tho. I’m saying this from first hand experience:flower2:

But I’m not sure about Muslim regions of Russia, such as Chechnya & Dagestan tho

It wouldn't have mattered if they did or did not because it's not illegal in Russia, but let's label this "PrOvOkInG MuSlimS" because apparently existing as a gay person in Qatar is a provocation to everyone else.  Like, how are you going to host a major international event and not expect a single gay person to come?  :deadbanana4:

And you could easily get one in Qatar too, they picked Wyndham knowing the owner is one of the richest conservative in Qatar, the hotel doesn’t even sell alcohol.

Other hotels who are open for tourists and considered an open zone are St Regis, W, Kempinski, Westin, Four Seasons, Hilton, and  Marriott.

Take from someone who lives here, we aren’t being chased with torches.

I always found it dystopian how so many of those MENA Muslim countries have violently homophobic laws but a lot of their leaders and royal family members engage in gay orgies. :deadbanana2: It’s like our closeted western homophobic politicians turned up to 300.

But it’s illegal? Isn’t that enough of a problem?

Interesting. I have a gay friend who worked in some hotel in Doha for a year as a sales manager in 2019, and they were telling me about getting D constantly.

So I was surprised to read the articles in the OP. Thanks for clearing it up.

But still STAY SAFE, SIS.

It's pretty much "don't ask don't tell" in the Gulf countries. The hookup apps are beyond booked and busy, and anything that goes on in private is fair game pretty much.

I'm not sure what the "reporters" expected honestly, stating openly that they were a gay couple :rip: You'd have absolutely no problem booking a hotel room for 2 men if you just don't say anything about your relationship. Is that great and progressive? No, but like no one is forcing you to go to Qatar...

I don't understand the point of booking a hotel and stating that you're gay just book the room and do whatever you want no one will say a thing

Oh you mean extremely religious people act extremely homophobic and trashy? Shocking!!!!

GAY is not allowed in the country, what did they expect? :foxaylove3:

It’s illegal in general to have public display of indecency to gays and straights.

What they do in their privacy isn’t prohibited.

A shocking discovery I guess

Oh, I see. That seems like a common situation for the more liberal Muslim countries.

And exactly my thoughts on western people expecting the absolute most when it comes to progressive liberties in Muslim countries. But I guess it sells the clicks???
