Big 5 nations can create songs catered towards the jury where as everyone else has to create songs catered towards the televote.

The big 5 still has a big disadvantage compared to the rest of the songs, they only get to perform once, while other songs in the Semis can start generating hype and following after their Semis. People that watch the Semis + juries (not this year obvs) are exposed early to those songs and often tend to forget about the big 5 simply because they remember the other songs more or because they already chose their favourites based on the Semis. That's why for a few years now, they've chosen to play/present a snippet of each Big 5 rehearsal in the Semis.

I think that was likely true 10 years ago, but with how easily accessible these songs are today plus with the snippets we get in the semi finals I don’t think it’s much of a disadvantage anymore.

I don’t think you’re ready for Austria not being close to top 10 with the public.

Gogetonthebus Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 There is a non-insignificant chunk of the audience that tunes in for the exact thing Due Vite is serving and they will lap it up. I don't like it but it happens every year. I don't think Italy deserves to be rewarded or encouraged for the travesty that was Sanremo this year, but they probably will be Top 10 at the least.
