Rumored to be a G:Son dance bop that she heard and liked and elevated in the studio. She's not locked in yet, and it will probably be like 2017 when she waited until the very last minute to agree to compete.

OMG! This would be the best thing to happen to Melodifestivalen since... 2012 really.

I don't think I could take another 2017 though! I never felt more disappointed in Sweden, people, ...the humanity. :cry3:

I saw Loreen perform Euphoria a few days ago (and earlier this year too) and it still absolutely hits live, but she does have a tendency to be drunk and/or messy at shows these days lol. If the rumour about her returning to Melfest is true I need her to get it together and bring her A game.

Statements would have done really well at Eurovision too. Sweden's twink era was a fiasco across the board

I kind of love that the world's gonna be able to vote now.

Bloc voting countries are shaking I just know it. :gaycat2:

I actually love this change and getting the jury out of the semi final is a good decision. Rest of the world being weighted as only one country is a good way to balance that as well. People will be mad but I think this could be great.

This makes me sad. Why drunk? I hope she's okay. Now I feel terrible for moaning about music.

I really like the changes in the voting system

Eurovision as a musical/visual event is much bigger than who wins in the end, so making SFs viewer-based only is a great way to ensure the grand final isn't filled with boring acts

and the rest of the world counting as a single country in voting is a great way to make eurovision fans in non-participant countries like me feel included without effectively changing the results :allears:

I do like the change for the semi-final situations, where only public votes.

Not sure how I feel about the non-participating countries being able to vote too. This is Eurovision after all and I don't think it would be fair

When she performed at Eurovision in Concert earlier this year she basically slurred her way through her songs and seemed kinda out of it when talking to the audience. She was also supposed to perform at the afterparty but never showed up.

She did seem to be in better spirits at Het Grote Songfestivalfeest last week though.

:dancehall: I hope she's okay, that doesn't sound great. Maybe I don't want her doing Melfest then.

I like non-participating countries getting to vote. It seems like it's more targeted at re-engaging countries that have dropped out and maintaining engagement with countries that are taking a year out. Since it only counts as one country, it shouldn't impact the final results.

I love the SF voting change. The juries have been flops for years, and the ballad bias has gone too far. The vote coordinating scandal last year just gave them cover to finally chop them from consideration during the SFs. Going all the way back to 2014, we would have had a better Grand Final with just televote in the Semis.

Verona would have qualified

The new system will inadvertently give the juries more power to decide the winner because there will be fewer jury bait songs in the final, which ensures that the available jury points will be divided amongst a smaller number of songs in the top of the list. Songs that are successful with juries will now be able to get a relatively higher percentage of the points because a lot of jury bait will be filtered out in the semis.

It might become easier for televote magnets to qualify, but there will be more of them in the final making it harder for them to get a large percentage of the available televote points. Yes there will be an additional set of televote points thanks to the non-European girlies newfound ability to vote, but that's a very small percentage of the total amount of points.

Seemingly a direct response to the awful results from 2022 semis.  We would have had Albania and Cyprus in exchange for Switzerland and Azerbaijan.  A dream me thinks

So the NQs in this post would have qualified under the new rule... Interesting. :skull:

Heat 3 and 4 seem more promising. Heat 4 is really competitive though.

Heat 3:

Marcus & Martinus - Air

Melanie Wehbe - For The Show

Ida-Lova - Låt Hela Stan Se På

Paul Rey - Royals

Nordman - Släpp Alla Sorger

Laurell - Sober

Casanovas - Så Kommer Känslorna Tillbaka

Heat 4:

Signe & Hjördis - Edelweiss

Axel Schylström - Gorgeous

Emil Henrohn - Mera Mera Mera

Mariette - One Day

Smash Into Pieces - Six Feet Under

Loreen - Tattoo

Kiana - Where Did You Go

I personally think the 2023 lineup is better than this year's and that says a lot. This year's lineup was their flop era, Kari learned from this year and didn't play (based on the names). ESC stans want a Loreen victory so bad (I want this too), but I reached the point where I am more fine and content with a Mariette victory (depending on her song because she delivers something like Time to Spare/Don't Kill My Vibe, it would be fine). After all, a Wiktoria victory after a while would be cool. I wouldn't underestimate Ida-Lova, Wiktoria, LouLou, Melanie Wehbe for the running either. Some of these are new, but I heard Kiana is from Talang (Sweden's Got Talent). Also, take this with the grain of salt, but based on the names it seems promising. Marcus & Martinus being in this is so surprising to me.

Glad to see Eva and Ewa back and Wiktoria too. ****, I didn't realize she's back too. I mean Wiktoria has been trying for a while, so we will see.

Agreed. I feel Victor Crone already ran his course, but I remember these artists just do Melfest for visibility, record label or whatnot - winning it is just the cherry on top. But I already can visualize his song already.

No Carola, Jessica, Charlotte... Tone is the schlager torchbearer this year:clap3:A new generation rises.

Cazzi Opeia is credited on Loreen's song. I sense a SMASH
