I hope Loreen gets that number 1 tbh she deserves it. :heart2:

Just bought all the songs from the artists likely to make top ten. Bought both versions of loreen's song. I don't even know when the last time I bought a single was. Other than escapism by raye just to help her get her number 1. :dies:

The outrage of Loreen winning reminds me of how Conchita won back then. The nails, the beard, whatever… in the end they served vocal range and TABS. Something a Blankspace Pullover or Doughnutan & Cheerio can‘t relate to.:swan:

Next year we need an interval act of the Swedish acts people actually care about aka no men just women

We also need a Kaarija performance but I’m sure we’ll get one

I’m almost positive we will get a “Stockholm Songbook” with past Eurovision acts performing Swedish made pop hits

We just watched a grown man cry on tv multiple times because he came in second place :rip: talk about loser behavior.

Are you shaming a man for crying?? I'm disappointed but not surprised that some Loreen stans do this.

Loreen herself has been kind, respectful and understanding of Käärijä and the Finnish people's reactions to the loss. So if you're gonna stan Loreen, please learn something from her behavior too.

As long as they keep Duncan Lawrence away next year for any performance. Left a sour taste in my mouth that he showed up after the whole mess with Mia and Dion :doc:

I'm not a stan, but I respect what he achieved. I don't want you guys to talk s h i t about him just because he's managed to share the spotlight with Loreen. Without Cha Cha Cha, Loreen's win would have been a lot less controversial. I think it's good that there was some challenge to her. It doesn't take anything away from her winning again and becoming even more of a Eurovision legend though.

I agree with you but like he's also been kind and respectful about her but many of his fans have not. So it was a bit of a one sided comment I guess. You could say the same thing about either side, unfortunately some fans just take things too far.

Yeah, I don't want people to say bad things about Loreen either. It's actually quite common here and across social media that the artists might be in good terms but the stans fight. So the Käärijä stans should learn from him too.

I think it's worth remembering that the eurovision winner doesn't get a cash prize. They get a trophy and their country gets to host it. The benifit to them is the exposure and the winning song usually moves some units. Loreen and Käärijä are both doing a lot better chart wise than many winners have done and they both got a huge amount of exposure. So really they both won in a way.

Over eurovision? Yes. Especially when his fans have weaponized “poor kaarja is so heartbroken” to contribute to misogynistic attacks against Loreen. I’m not surprised by Kaarija stans though.

There really is so much deep rooted, casual misogyny in people's "commentary" on the female Eurovision acts. A lot of hypocrisy, such as

* Kaarija stans attacking Loreen for winning, not seeming "apologetic" enough for "stealing" his victory, the praise for Kaarija being "authentic" by expressing his disappointment at losing --> Loreen is basically SHAMED for being excited about her historic win, or on the flip side, attacked for not seeming excited ENOUGH. As a side note, where was this energy and discourse when Duncan won in 2019 over the televote winners, Keiino?

* "Noa Kirel isn't even singing in her recap video, this is a SONG contest not a dance contest" --> literal crickets about Moldova's recap this year being all dancing, no singing

* Too many instances of misogyny to count in the months long CRUSADE against Blanka

Otherwise good post, but it was like 99% girls that left the bad comments on Blanka's pages in the past few months. And that was wrong ofc, but I don't think her being a woman was the problem there, but rather how Poland handled their national qualification. And Jann told people not to hate on her, so again it goes to the point of fandoms being toxic even if the artists have no issues with each other.

People criticizing the Polish jury system and now also the ESC  juries in itself wasn't an attack on Blanka or Loreen. It's unfortunate that some people have made it personal and needlessly attacked them, and not least because now we can't really have a proper debate over what changes could or should be made to the voting systems in the national selections and the main event.

Every year there's this bias that if people like the winner they think the system is great, but if they dislike them they think it's rigged. And you see it in politics too these days that every time people lose elections they call them rigged. People seem to forget that you don't really have to win the event to get a nice career boost out of it anyway. I'm just happy to see all the songs from this year's ESC getting a healthy amount of streams.
