What were the best bops? Any Eleni - Fuego standout moments?

Yeah, streams really aren't reflective of what song is the best or who Europe wants to win or else 20th place Armenia last year would have won :toofunny2:

Snap took off months after the competition though.  Around May of last year the top songs were Spain, Sweden, Italy, the UK and Ukraine.

Idk I think both sides are being a little annoying about the victory.

Obviously some of the Finland stans are doing too much.  I really need them to calm down too because nobody wants to be the Chanel stans of 2023.  There are plenty of reasons to be happy with Finland's result even without the win and people can celebrate those without bringing Loreen down or trying to not accept her victory, which was completely deserved with how the rules are right now.

I also think some Loreen stans are not handling that another country is receiving the overwhelming public support and not their fave.  Sweden has had issues with the televote for years, and even with Loreen placing 2nd there her not receiving a single 12 points is pretty telling that those issues might have been masked this year but are still there.

Anyway, an iconic top 2 and I'm sure they'll be revered the same way the top 2 in 2018 are, with Netta and Eleni both loved by the fandom and both being involved with future Eurovisions for years to come.  :clap3:

Amazingly said :clap3:

Everyone knew for months that the top 2 was going to be Sweden and Finland. Loreen is a fantastic artist who in my opinion has better showings than what "Tattoo" is. Tattoo is in my top 3 but I do have some criticism of it being a bit too formulatic and rhyming pain with rain always me cringe but I know that's more of the Melodifestivalen writers, not her. However the staging is breathtaking and well thought out. I loved watching Loreen coming in and take a motherly role and insight after 11 years. She was super supportive of the contestants.

When I first watched Cha Cha Cha at UMK I was in shock at how crazy and cool it was and he had my support from then onwards. The song actually ticks all the boxes for me, the industrial metal reminds me of my edgy teenage years and the hyperpop ending is now in lines with my music taste as an adult. The performance is pure chaos which is a nice difference compared to Sweden's usual packages that are prestine and perfect.

Some of the Finland supporters are doing a bit much, it's fine to criticise the jury system/weighting but leave Loreen out of it. She ticked all of the Jury tickboxes as they currently are and Kaarija ticked all the televote boxes. Also not everything is down to apple music/spotify streaming numbers as obviously a song like Tattoo is going to be streamed more than a song like Cha Cha Cha that's a clusterfuck of 3 genres.

An iconic top 2 that will stand the test of time. :clap3:

italy served one of the better ballads this year i don't get why people don't understand why it received good televote and jury results :dies:

Those segments are so corny especially when everyone but Maneskin have been forgotten by the GP :deadbanana2:

i remember when arcade was heavily payola'd on radio for months over here after it won :dies:

but i mean even that is better than winners like toy that go absolutely nowhere and no one ever listens to them again.

The only people that called for their DQ were locals who saw one picture and took shitty media outlets as gospel :rip: you can't compare that to a bunch of gay people on your phone calling Loreen mother

I just thought there was a bit of double standard there :michael:

now hold on :celestial5:

the entire coke fiasco was made up by jealous twitter users anyway, i can't believe that one journalist who spread it wasn't banned from the press centre/ conferences this year.

It wasn't just twitter, my sis talked about it the next day at lunch and she doesn't watch eurovision + I saw news outlets report the controvery too :deadbanana2:

ngl it was kinda disgusting to watch, for me at least :rip: loreen was high as f*ck, and kaarija probably snorted something behind the scenes :rip: that split screen served cocaine promotion

nnnnnn, tbh no hate to Loreen idk if she was high or not maybe she just is that chill, well she was exactly like this during the semi and the swedish contest. If she was really high during the whole thing I do think it's distasteful

After Mengoni Sanremo win i was like "God this time we're gonna be in the half", cause is such a bland ballad. Then i have listened all the competitors in the final and i was "ok top 5 it's coming"... i always forget how tragic is the music in this competition :deadbanana2:

it's not always as tragic as it was this year

But the point is that streaming success can take off for any song regardless of quality or performance.

Poland’s song could become a big hit.  Should it have been in the top 3 due to streaming potential?

We need all the Tattoo-stans listen to Jupiter Drive too.

If I see one more ***** from the UK say we need to send Sam Ryder again. He'll lose twice like Sergey did (deservedly)

I guess my point is that the streams do represent interest in a song at that moment.  It shouldn’t win because it has streams. It should win because people like it and it was able to capture people’s attention which can be shown in streams at the moment.

yes obv it was on national news the days/week after but it was made UP by annoying twitter users + jealous fans who started spreading it / a lot of local "huns" who thought it was shocking and maneskin was too "obscene" or something. :deadbanana4:

2018 & 2019 kinda did irreparable damage to Sweden's reputation

This year has been the best music wise along with 2021 :priceless: stop expecting Eurovision to serve 26 underground indie songwriter music that will never happen. It’s a song contest that has always been known for it’s kitsch and pop appeal.

If you think this year was the ‘worst’ then I don’t get why you’re still watching

This ultimate Eurovision moment. It doesn't get better than this excellence.

Now who do we want to win next year? I would love if a country that hasn’t won before/won in a while wins the contest :duca:

Armenia is long overdue for a win at this point especially considering their JESC success

Armenia will send Malena soon in the next few years I'm sure after the collapse that was Qami Qami, maybe not next year as she's just turned 16.

Other than that we want Lithuania to have a shot of having some success

I don't even care about this song but it winning would be so random and fun to see (it won the televote). The juries make Eurovision so predictable

Armenia would have to learn how to send a good song first!

I’d like to see Iceland win. I still feel bad that they had their first win taken away from them in 2020
