Bffr. She's 133 points behind the televote winner with no win in any countries. There's a reason people are mad. Aging gays on this website who are craving to see an older female being successful won't acknowledge this, this forum lives in a bubble after all, but this is hurting Loreen more than it's helping her.

 if you call people aging gays their opinion is automatically invalid

sweden still got over 240 points from the televote, it doesn’t matter if they didn’t get any 12’s. based on your logic every country should get one vote then.

And they voted for Loreen too, so...

That "backlash" is not a real thing and you can easily tell where all the noise is coming from.

Expand

It's not a real thing because you said so? Ok

I can tell you for sure st least here in Croatia, people are furious about juries taking away Finland's win. I guess everybody's here is somehow a Kaarija stan

Posted

Finalnd got 18 sets of 12 points from the public vote while Sweden got

If you check twitter, Reddit, Instagram and every other social , there is a huge backslash. I haven't ever seen something like this before. The results were rigged by the juries and it was so obvious this year. The fact that the whole arena was screaming Cha Cha Cha during the announcement of the results is something that has never been seen before in the history of Eurovision. Everyone was so angry about the jury vote.

I hope the stupid juries will be cancelled forever. 50 people (that are always biased) should not count more than the vote of millions of people. This is not democratic at all

Sure. Aging gays.

It doesn't matter if you're reducing her win to that when the numbers speak for themselves. And that's what matters. Not the alternative world where teen girls obsessed with white men and some moms on FB are "mad".

She swept. That's the reality.

Was rooting for the Aussies but they got in finals at least.

Congrats to Loreen :clap3:

This discourse will always happen when an external source affects something that the public chose. Keep in mind people pay to vote so when the public pay and their result is affected so majorly by an external source.. so naturally they’re gonna be mad :coffee2:

i’m not understanding when or where eurovision declared it would crown the public vote winner? if you choose to spend money, you do know and accept that it will contribute 50% of the score. so why are we crying about it now?

There's no logic in what you're saying... you're trying to defend something that was, by far, the public's 2nd choice, and that wasn't the first choice in any of the participating countries. On top of that, something that landslided the jury vote leaving people puzzled and wondering about conspiracies. This is doing more damage than anything to Loreen and to Eurovision's brand, since people are feeling resentful after paying actual money. Finland was a landslide, it was not a cute 30 points' lead like Norway's in 2019 that no one made a fuss about. This will leave an impact on next year's rules imo, especially considering Sweden now has to save face.

I think one of the worst things they did was separate the jury and televote results. When they were presented together no one had any issues

She swept the vote of 185 people, yes. The vote of millions of people was swept by someone else. And that's why there's backlash. Triggered much by the aging gays comment? Seems like you took it personally!

This is yet another idea of the Swedes, it's all coming back to them now!

babes, anyone who is voting should be aware of the rules of the competition they’re spending money on.

Sweden would have won with 330 points and finland would have come second with 299 points.

So the solution is just to hide the problem(aka the corrupted juries) and not solve it (aka get rid of the corrupted juries)

Posted

There’s been soooooo many instances where the act with the most public votes didn’t win, why is it suddenly so controversial now?

Posted

I love when people live inside a teeny, tiny circle and they think that's the real thing.

Stream the winner here (who, by the way, has 1.1M more views than the "people's winner", lmfao).

I do think they're getting rid of the juries next year, though. Sweden has to save face somehow (also the fact that the voting supervisor is Swedish doesn't help, but he himself had already announced he wanted to make the entire event televote-only, they just did the semis this year to see how it went).

almost 5M in Italy, that's huge :clap3:

Because this year there was an actual landslide. A country that won half of the countries' votings and that didn't get less than 6 points from anyone versus one that won 0 votings.

how are they corrupted? obviously music experts will prefer a well performed pop song to an experiment rock/rap/hyperpop song with the worst vocals of every act of the night :rip:

Girl *I* know how Eurovision works. I'm not that mad and I accepted for months that Loreen would win. She's a fantastic artist and I'm happy for her.

I'm just pointing out the fact that whenever this situation happens, people will just be mad naturally since they opened their purse to vote. They will feel slighted because the jury is an external source and does hold so much weight. Keep in mind this year a lot of people who didn't watch previously tuned in, at least here in the UK. That's why the discourse is heightened from previous times the televote winner lost possibly.

Again, repeating this in every post doesn't make it true. This is the worst reception of the winner that we've ever seen, you burying your head in the sand won't change that.

but congrats on YT views!
