I feel like they'll get rid of the juries completely next year, Loreen is getting a shitstorm for this and it isn't even her fault :rip:

They’ll never get rid of the juries in the year SVT is hosting and considering Sweden holds a lot of power at the EBU I don’t think it’ll ever happen

I'm not mad that Sweden won, but Finland would have been a more interesting winner.  Tattoo is very safe and predictable.

I hope France manages to win in my lifetime. :gaycat7:

Everyone was thinking that jury result was rigged. Loreen winning the juries makes sense, but with 2x the points of the runner-up? :deadbanana2: The only thing they can do to make up for it is either make juries 25% of the vote next year or get rid of them all together. Loreen doesn't deserve this hate, it isn't her fault, but this situation isn't doing her any favors. I mean, Finland was the unanimous public's winner :rip:

This feels like another reality fueled by a couple a tweets witk 2K likes, probably.

Her song is doing better on Spotify than any other and she is a legend that got thousands of public votes. Don't let angry teenage girls make you feel like there's a REAL backlash lol.

Besides, televote only finale was the system we had in the 2000s and thats when all the Western racist countries complained that Eastern Europe and Greece were sweeping away with the points every year. Ain’t no way thats gonna happen again :bibliahh:

if only they were this mad when norway stormed the televote in 2019 and got paid absolute DUST by the juries

Hello? The very fact that they have so much power and they won in this way is the exact reason why they're getting rid of them, to save face, at least for a few years. Also Martin Osterdahl said in an interview last year that he wanted to remove them from the final already, but ultimately didn't :dies:

The generic song in English with massive playlisting getting marginally more streams than some song in Finnish? The shitstorm is actually in the real world, because you know, actual people voted. Not just aging gays.

they won’t get rid of juries, televote-only era was a horrible time for eurovision where it lost a lot of credibility.

juries help balance out the drunks and tone deaf people voting at home to pick a good song and performance. that helps keep up eurovision’s brand.

First step was to remove jury votes from semi finals.. now they will remove them for the final show as well

Norway was 30 points ahead of the runner up, not 133 + winning in 18 countries sis

That was 15 years ago. Times are now different, people see Eurovision as something to reliably build their career around.

And they voted for Loreen too, so...

That "backlash" is not a real thing and you can easily tell where all the noise is coming from.

but they were 18th with the jury when they won the televote, whereas finland managed to get 4th which is actually really impressive for that performance

yes and that perception is a result of jury intervention. do you think eurovision would have that reputation if Moldova won last year or Russian grannies won in 2012? :deadbanana2:

Not to mention the massive push by the label

Besides, why tf does it matter? Why are we even holding the contest then, just check who hss the most streams at the beginning of May and hand them trophy

all the moaning and whining about juries will die down in a day or two… it’s only a chronically online minority of eurovision viewers that are acting deranged about it. there’s no “backlash” from anyone else.

The fact that SWEDEN didnt win any single country televotes tho :deadbanana4:

No wonder people are MAD MAD :deadbanana4:

Bffr. She's 133 points behind the televote winner with no win in any countries. There's a reason people are mad. Aging gays on this website who are craving to see an older female being successful won't acknowledge this, this forum lives in a bubble after all, but this is hurting Loreen more than it's helping her.

Neither of these things would have happened as Loreen was the televote winner in 2012 and Ukraine was last year's. In fact, even during the televote era, there was never a 'joke' winner. :michael:

This discourse will always happen when an external source affects something that the public chose. Keep in mind people pay to vote so when the public pay and their result is affected so majorly by an external source.. so naturally they’re gonna be mad :coffee2:

Oh dear, REAL people paid to vote and make Finland. The backlash isn't just online :rip:
