israel’s absolutely random jury slay is making twitter fume about russia getting banned but israel still taking part.. why don’t they start writing their broadcasters to push the ebu if they actually care about this :dies:

You compare a country protecting herself from being rocket launched on a daily basis for 1 month , then getting into an operation against it to a country who randomly attacked Ukraine?
Just stop being so ignorant and spread hate on a Eurovision thread. Thanks

Yeah, I heard the song on MTV before I even knew she was the UK Eurovision representative and loved it. What I saw today was so disappointing, her singing wasn’t that good, but I think staging and camera cuts among everything was really disappointing.

I almost hope UK gets a big star for next year, but I think the biggest issue for UK was always thinking they don’t need a show. Sam tried to make somewhat of a performance last year and did well with a mediocre song and other than him UK entries have been very minimal lately… just not suitable for eurovision.

What we need is a better selection process. We desperately need to adopt a Melodifestivalen style national final.

We need it to mimic actual Eurovision finals and have a 50/50 split between public vote & jury vote deciding our entry. We should also open up to international viewers & voters. There’s no point in British people having 100% of the say because we can’t vote for ourselves in the finals, we need to send something we *know* will appeal to international jurors and audiences. This is the best way to do it and other countries are already doing it.

TaP Music can continue to make internal selections for the shortlist (Sam was a great pick, Mae was good on paper) and they should then open it up and let us see the performances first before a decision is made. We need to be sure we’re sending an act that will translate LIVE.

It’ll NEVER happen, but this is my dream scenario for future UK selections.

The way people were saying this was the best big 5 ever only for most of them to flop like always :rip:

I feel like people say this every year before the contest and then all of them bar Italy end up flopping  :deadbanana4:

Spain tanking is so funny to me. The delusional Spaniards always manage to gaslight the other eurofans into thinking Spain is a contender :deadbanana2:the song is unlistenable.

I always found Spanish entry this year so bad and the song unlistenable and I couldn't understand from where this hype is coming from. Every single friend/family member that heard the song was like : wow this song is so bad.

And people on ATRL were presenting it as piece of art:deadbanana4:

I think that was because of all the jury scamming that happened in the semis last year

and people on here always saying italy is going to flop like... as long as the song is pretty like most italian ballads and is sung well it's going to have an audience among the televote and juries.
