kitasss_vlc Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Noa was just ok but there are not many dance acts this year so she is lucky... plus that 2nd half placement just secured her a top5 spot in the final... Portugal will probably open the final... but maybe Poland if she gets 1st half... Killer first half, whoever is doing the RO is gonna get dragged no matter what it's decided...
zzmyth Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 can someone please enlighten me at why is Finland so liked? The song is so mediocre... the dancing is silly... the costumes are.... a choice.... WTH?
P!nk Forever Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Serbia is such a joke. I hoped he would have flopped badly. But the public fell for his mumbling Billie Eilish schtick.

WTH? the song is in my Top 15 but the performance really isn't working for me. trash vocals, ugly outfit, too much backing track. I think "nice/quirky guy" mediocrity tends to be overhyped by certain people. I don't think locals will vote for Finland significantly more than Croatia, Sweden, or Ukraine. the jury certainly won't put him above Sweden, Italy, France, Cyprus... he feels like the type of Eurovision fan bubble favorite that will yield disappointing results.
Fevesy Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 I personally enjoy Finland with all the different genres in the song, the performance (both UMK and Eurovision) is super fun, and despite it not being absolutely perfect that in a way is endearing. Comparing it to Sweden which always put on a perfect, pristine performance (which is not a bad thing) maybe this year I prefer a bit of grit and lightheartedness that Finland gives.

The only issue of Finland's performance is Käärijä's vocals but even that doesn't matter as much because the whole entry is outstanding: charismatic artist, techno/colorful lighting, queer/camp motives, catchy Rap/EDM/childish melodies... Everything is captivating since the start and it really feels like a game-changing winner
Dante Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Lord the stage is so small and the arena as well. Looks like a talent show or smtn...

Gossip_Boy Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 That was such a great experience in the arena. I’ll be surprised if Käärijä doesn’t win the televote. BY FAR the biggest reaction from the audience. Everyone was losing it. Biggest disappointment for me has to be Vesna. Everything felt so…muted. Shame they couldn’t bring the stunning imagery of the music video to the stage because I really do love the song. Noa was great and brought some much needed energy. Can’t wait for the second semi (even though I only really like one song lol).
Komet Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Cha Cha Cha is literally the best bop of the year, that also manages to be fun and authentic without being try-hard or pretentious. Which is hard to get, not everybody has that!
Schhh Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Why is Croatia smashing on Youtube Listening to Cha Cha Cha performance with headphones on and yikes at the vocals It definitely won't win. Shame really, it's easily the best song this year.

It doesn't even matter if Käärijä sings a bit off because it just seems funny in the context of "it's crazy, it's party." But Loreen has to sound good because her voice carries the song. I kinda wish the first chorus in Tattoo was more soft and then hit it harder in the second chorus. She does that in the acoustic version.
abelfenty Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Who is listening to Cha Cha Cha and expecting Whitney Houston level vocals? He literally sounded great I don’t understand all the complaining

illia Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 I LOVEEEE Cha Cha Cha but I feel like it might be a new Shum A televote magnet, very fun and something new but too *complex* for the old-ass juries who will tank it But at least Shum had singing while Cha Cha Cha is mostly shouting
Dante Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 i can already see the bullshit with jury votes but i hope finland somehow pulles through, at least with a televote landslide or smtn
JennyWayne Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 I can already see a2015 type of meltdown happening if Finland wins the televote but they lose to Sweden overall because of the jury giving all their points to Loreen

Pretty sure the backlash would make them remove the juries from the finals too Or lower their points to 30% instead of 50% or smth.
