Funhouse Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 If loudest cheers in the arena determined the winner, Ukraine would've won in 2021 and Spain or Moldova would've won in 2022

ZIVERT Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Just finished watching, and wow, I'm lowkey shocked that Croatia, Serbia, and to a lesser extent Portugal, made it through. My qualifiers (in no order) after watching were Sweden, Finland, Israel, Czech Republic, Moldova, Switzerland, Norway, Malta, Netherlands, and Ireland. I'm honestly heartbroken that Malta didn't make it through, their performance was so cute! But I have to say, Sweden and Israel stanning aside, my favorite performance of the night was Czechia. Something about it touched me profusely... I'm not sure if it was the Ukrainian chorus, the Slavic sisterhood, or something else, but when they finished, I burst into tears I will be giving them some votes on Saturday!
Kummercell Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 I haven't thought about it before but I totally see Croatia and Finland splitting votes. I have a feeling Moldova will do super well too
Pedro Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Not the Irish band having a meltdown. Did he really say we did all we could? Yeah except delivering a good song or staging.
Kummercell Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Ireland always sends the same tired mid-2010s AC pop and then they get surprised that they're flopping
nasa Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 I liked Ireland's song but they really need to sit this one out
Funhouse Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Ireland is THE most embarrassing country in Eurovision right now. Their qualification record is horrendous and I feel like their artists always get themselves involved with some dumb drama after they get eliminated (except for Mother Brooke)

Most people have moved to Tiktok. And I don't like that song as a whole either, but the cha cha cha part is infectious.
Kummercell Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 I'm 100% sure there's a cool gaelic Go_A'd act in Ireland to bless our ears
Hurem Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Croatia already at 212k views I can see Loreen catching up tomorrow, but the fact that we're doing this well after 6 years of NQing makes me truly happy
Abracadabra Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Tattoo is clearly the best song in the contest there's no question
anti-bitch Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 And like, Noa is getting more views than Loreen, but I don't think that means she's/that song is more popular.

Funhouse Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 The Dutch broadcaster has an official Eurovision app where people can rate the entries based on song, vocals, and staging on a scale from 1 to 10. This was a fairly chaotic semi-final too so I'm not surprised the ballad lovers all flocked to this one. Edited May 10, 2023 by Funhouse
kimberly Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 I think Israel and Sweden were the best overall packages of the night. I voted for Sweden and Latvia. Might have also voted for Israel if they weren't bombing Gaza as we speak. people of Palestine clearly don't matter as much as Ukraine did, I wonder why EBU hypocrisy at its best.
