The crowd is SO loud after Finlands performance:bibliahh: You can barely hear the hosts :bibliahh:

Will save the rest for tonight. Judging from the two I watched it has improved majorly since the rehearsal clips

Wow I think that my country (Greece) this year has the worst entry in history of Eurovision :deadbanana2:

I hate our national broadcaster for embarrassing us like this. I'm a huge Eurovision fan and this year I couldn't even listen our song cause I got embarrassed after a few seconds.

The one thing I don't get is all the different footage that comes out of the many rehearsals and people willingly watching all of it. I get wanting to take a peek but watching entire performances before the live shows seems stupid to me. But that is just me though, I like to be surprised when the show is supposed to be seen by everyone.

La Zarra is free-falling, whilst Loreen is recovering points in the odds :coffee:

I'm embarrassed by my country (Netherlands) too :toofunny3: I swear if Duncan's nepotism and AVROTROS' unprofessionalism kills our qualifying streak :dies:

the no politics rule is so dumb to me when the reason they started this contest was… mostly political. unless you want milquetoast everything, songs will be political to some extent. 1944 was entirely political, Armenia’s “Don’t Deny” song, and last year Konstrakta’s song was entirely political, for example.

I think the sooner we accept that our very existence is political, and the whole concept of this contest between countries will always be political, the fairer things will be.

Of course, Eurovision is inherently political even though EBU loves to deny it. The no-politics rule is too arbitrary and gets selectively used. This is my issue with it. Major hypocrisy.

1944 and Face the Shadow (two bops btw) were subtle and not so in-your-face and blatantly obvious like Mama šč. People tune in to watch Eurovision once a year to escape the mundanity of everyday life and yet they will be swarmed with acts like Croatia and Switzerland. Also, Switzerland's anti-war song is hilarious considering they won't ever worry about that.

The no politics rule is bullcrap, Eurovision has been political from the start. If you wanna dive further into that I really recommend watching this video which explains it pretty well (also exposes the hypocrisy of the West and their attitude towards Eastern Europe):

This is a really good video essay, I was just about to post it :bunny:
