event Eurovision Song Contest 2023 | Loreen does it again!

The one thing I don't get is all the different footage that comes out of the many rehearsals and people willingly watching all of it. I get wanting to take a peek but watching entire performances before the live shows seems stupid to me. But that is just me though, I like to be surprised when the show is supposed to be seen by everyone.

I think the sooner we accept that our very existence is political, and the whole concept of this contest between countries will always be political, the fairer things will be.

Of course, Eurovision is inherently political even though EBU loves to deny it. The no-politics rule is too arbitrary and gets selectively used. This is my issue with it. Major hypocrisy.

 

1944 and Face the Shadow (two bops btw) were subtle and not so in-your-face and blatantly obvious like Mama šč. People tune in to watch Eurovision once a year to escape the mundanity of everyday life and yet they will be swarmed with acts like Croatia and Switzerland. Also, Switzerland's anti-war song is hilarious considering they won't ever worry about that.

So after watching all the performances I'd say these are likely qualifiers, with the first 5 being safe Qs.

 

Finland, Sweden, Israel >>> Norway, Moldova >>> Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia, Portugal >>> Malta, Netherlands, Switzerland, Latvia >>> Azerbaijan, Ireland

 

 Azerbaijan + Ireland are prob chanceless, but I can see any of the eight remaining countries going both way, it's gonna be exciting

I feel like there's a chance he will get conan-osirisied this night aka only loved by a few artsy gheys (with telemoveis I was one of them lol)  although I guess with a few diaspora votes here and there he will probably qualify

It was fine during the first dress rehearsal yesterday so obviously they CAN do it. Let's hope it all goes well tonight.
