They still cut to the green room after they show the artist on stage for 1.5 seconds?? So we still end up in the same place with most of the delegation in the green room EXCEPT for the actual artist.

That is so ******* shitty. Whose dumb idea was that? :deadbanana2:

So dumb, I hope the UK goes back to flopping. We don't need them to host ever again.

Then what's the point? :deadbanana4: They really thought they did something.

There's a quick interview with the first 5 qualifiers but it doesn't add anything. The questions are very bad and it takes you out of the tension.

I don't need to know about how Pasha cares for his hair or if Tural and Turan want twins to win, I want to know who qualifies.

They do a 6-way split screen for the final qualifier announcement

The new qualifying announcements don't feel as humiliating/debasing as I feared, but it just adds a lot of faff and takes away from the excitement. There's no added tension, no added drama, just a lot more jumping around between the hosts, the artists on stage, the green room, and the artists backstage. It doesn't add anything that warrants the change.

Yeah. What's the point in having a break after the first 5 qualifiers? Like just cut to the chase :rip:

what is EBU doing

I already didn't like the 'no jury votes in SF' & pre-recorded vocals change, but this one is the worst.

RTVE and SVT would do it better, just saying :hey:

That Martin guy needs to be replaced after this years' edition.

Truly ruining the experience with shitty decisions

It's so gross and disgusting to put artists through this but it's an EBU decision, not BBC.

If it is not scrapped by next year it's going to affect the selection processes for countries, cause some artists will just refuse to go through that. Maybe this year it was revealed to the delegations too late for them to protest.

I'm kinda surprised EBU didn't come up with an exclusive NFT artists/delegations bullsh*t or something similar -- it would've been the icing on the cake, tho

It probably wasn't communicated with the delegations ahead of time. I know for a fact that the delegations weren't told about the change in press access and the closing of the press centre during the rehearsals before it was announced to the world (the Dutch delegation was NOT happy about this btw) and I'm fairly certain they weren't told about the semis being televote only either.
