It's so gross and disgusting to put artists through this but it's an EBU decision, not BBC. 

 

If it is not scrapped by next year it's going to affect the selection processes for countries, cause some artists will just refuse to go through that. Maybe this year it was revealed to the delegations too late for them to protest.

It probably wasn't communicated with the delegations ahead of time. I know for a fact that the delegations weren't told about the change in press access and the closing of the press centre during the rehearsals before it was announced to the world (the Dutch delegation was NOT happy about this btw) and I'm fairly certain they weren't told about the semis being televote only either.

SVT has been gradually pushing for these kind of changes since 2016. Sweden has way too much power at the EBU, I wouldn’t be surprised if the USA participates next year

according to what i've seen people say about this last week, changes between semi and final are actually allowed as they get a deadline to send in all the changes they want but the camera angles should be on lock after the second rehearsal for the semis.

Loreen’s camera angles can also be affected by her own placement in the choreography and the smoke, so those things can be edited to make the existing angles look better

The only camera issue I saw in Loreen's rehearsal is that there was some crew visible in the first shot after the bridge when they finally zoom out for the first time. That will be fixed. Everything else looked MUCH better than we saw in the rehearsal clip. They keep the camera very close on her for the first 2/3 of the song.

yeah honestly the way that their dominance is so obvious i don't know a single other delegation or country that has half of the pull SVT has over the contest. the pre recorded vocals are already getting terribly misused by multiple countries basically singing along to a fully backed chorus or other parts of the song.

 

Looking back, songs like Fuego would fall sooo flat if most of the song would have been layered with the studio vocals instead of the backing singers.
