ZIVERT Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Glad the Finland stans won something, the real contest will not be as fun for them
bjorn Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 So there won’t be real smoke on stage but smoke on a LED screen?
Lil Mxnster Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Loreen's staging is a downgrade if it's compared with Melfest's one; however, it won't matter as long as the camera shoots are on point. Also, GP's first impact won't change, anyway

The liveblog said there was real smoke and you can also see some in this picture The smoke gave them a lot of trouble in Melfest so I'm sure they'll be trying out different things during these rehearsals to get it to the right amount for the live shows
BOOM! Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Y'all giving Cornelia #1 last year and Flopland this year... There will be a lot of FUMES on May 13 and i am LIVING!

PaloSanto Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Realistically, I wouldve given Sweden some points, out of all the songs this year it's the one I find myself singing randomly the most
Konril Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 From a gorgeous marble-like ceiling to a Christmas box about to be discarded once it is opened... The downgrade to Loreen's staging.
abelfenty Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 The dramatics in here Loreen’ staging is literally the same as Melfest, just scaled down a little in size. It’s probably going to look identical on TV
BOOM! Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 I have a feeling that France will outsell everyone with staging and serve iconique!
Funhouse Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 The screen might be smaller but I think the performance will end up looking better than at Melfest. The lighting design already looks better and they have much more time to perfect the camera work.
Konril Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Sweden's winning this but congrats to Finland winning ATRL's taste even with the sabotage.

Her performance is all about the visuals and close-ups and this has a potential to make it even more iconic and have even better intimate atmosphere.
WalkAway Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 (edited) Ironically I was impressed by Switzerland, Moldova, and Ireland the most today, and I absolutely loathe their songs. Edited April 30, 2023 by WalkAway
Komet Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Atrlvision Now why tf do all the performances look so dark? Did EBU forget to tell the delegations that there's a functional LED in the back? Sweden deff looks like a downgrade from the pics, it's giving low quality. The camera work will need to be immaculate.

igninton Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 (edited) WaitT who at the BBC said "**** our editorial guidelines art. 4: impartiality" and allowed Loreen to hang that wooden square coffin from the ceiling? Between this and the train strikes during the Grand Final we have several storms coming their way and I couldn't be happier. Edited April 30, 2023 by igninton

Hanging props doesn't always have to be a problem though. The way Loreen's setup worked at Melfest wouldn't have been allowed at Eurovision because the screen had to be there for all the performances. As long as they can rig the hanging props during the postcard (+ eventual ad break) it's usually allowed if the venue can handle it, and obviously they made it work with the smaller screen. Will it also be impartial if Blanca is allowed to hang her fringe curtains?
nathanspears Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 I think on camera it will look fine but yeah, in person it might be a bit odd. I don't understand why the bottom box is so big?!
