Fevesy Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 I like Unicorn but I swear if her staging is **** I'll be so mad since clearly the song was made with it in mind. Her single run in the last few years has been immaculate so they could have just sent something along those lines truthfully but I still have hope to be gagged in a few weeks.
Miles. Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 This year is so much better than the last two years. Now THOSE were bad. --- Unicorn is highkey the best pop girl song this year. Israel > Norway/Sweden/UK/France

Komet Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Unicorn. Its subject is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of literary theory most of its meaning will go over a typical listener's head. There's also Noa's reformist outlook, which is deftly woven into her lyricism - her personal philosophy draws heavily from French post-structuralist feminism literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these lyrics, to realize that they're not just catchy- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Unicorn truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the genius in Noa's polemical catchphrase "It's gonna be phenomen-phenomenal, feminine-femininal" which itself is a cryptic reference to Greer's feminist classic The Female Eunuch. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Noa Kirel's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have an unicorn tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

The quality since the 2018 contest has been so high that every new year seems disappointing because I'm not used to the new songs yet. The best year still remains 2021 for me though. 16 minutes ago, MALAMENTE said: the malta singer is so cute though Taste! He looks like cute boyfriend material. Edited April 30, 2023 by blown away
