Post Malone Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Like what was this honey? It's giving a random concept demo from the album sessions that ends up getting l worded on certain sites years later it has no structure never mind a proper chorus, repetitive af lyrical content, unpolished autotune, and the instrumental is basically a loop. I am shocked an A List artist like her, one that is especially celebrated for her songwriting at that, really released a song in such undeveloped condition and it doesn't even fit on Lover like at all. Why & surprised this "song" ever saw the light of day?
fridayteenage Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 my bff has it in his top 3 for the album. which i disagree with but it has fans
Rotunda Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 I think it’s a cute album track. And it kinda works with the childish elements of Lover.

lovecatt Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 song is harmless she's definitely released much worse
By the Water Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Have you ever listened to the song that comes before it in the tracklist?
JoeAg Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 that’s one of my favs from that album, the vibes are immaculate
The Music Industry Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Was expecting ME! It's Nice To Have A Friend is amazing. I'm afraid you just have bad taste!

I'm not even really coming for how good or bad this song might be, but for how conceptually incomplete and odd it sounds. Like structurally and production wise it just doesn't make sense for a released album track
Touch It Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 it's better than I forgot that you existed, the man, london boy, you need to calm down, and ME!
The Next Day Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 (edited) Definetly one of her best tracks. It's an unusual sound for her, yet it's still a Taylor Swift song. The production reminds me of wind chimes and mixed with the nostalgia-drenched lyrics, the song just makes sense. Other songs on lover overstay it's welcome, but this one is a really nice interlude. And what do you mean there's no structure? There are clearly a hook ("It's nice to have a friend" followed by the chant) and a verse that take turns. Edited May 14, 2022 by The Next Day
PoisonCandy Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 How does it not fit on Lover? It's literally a song about love...
Brando Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 I used to hate it then I visited my old friend in Berlin, took a bunch of silly pics together and when I got back I made a little video with this as a soundtrack. It fit the light and silly mood so perfectly and I loved it ever since. It's a really odd song though

DatChickDoe Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 It is not a song I enjoy. But there are fans of it and I am glad they can find enjoyment in it.
Cloröx Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 The disrespect, it cleanses my ear and soul after listening the track before it
